Re: Drop-Down Controls--Nested
Very interesting! I will try your method of placing the control into a div. That's a great tip. And it's good to know you consider nesting a good practice. Thank you, Msquared!

Drop-Down Controls--Nested
Does anyone have experience with nested drop-down controls? Our team is in the process of converting several RH projects to Flare and one of the projects has drop-downs within drop-downs. I'm not advocating its use, just wondering if Flare can support it. I think not as when I tested inserting a ...

Re: Search Results Selection Page--Links Breaking
MadCap Tech Support provided the answer----in version 4.2 of Flare, enable the "Pre-merge Search Database File" option on the Performance tab on the DotNet Help target properties screen then rebuild. (I never even noticed that particular setting.)
Works like a charm.

Re: Hosting Providers—Looking for Recommendations
I'm new to videos, too. We've made a couple using Camtasia to be viewed in a Flash player. The sound quality is definitely an issue but we're getting there.

Re: Hosting Providers—Looking for Recommendations
I do work for a software company but the case is as bobmoon describes. We're in the middle of transition and the web sites for all the primary products are the top priority. This is a little corner of our corporation and we operate differently from the rest. My doc project will only be serving a ...

Re: Hosting Providers—Looking for Recommendations
It is a weird situation.....our data center is actually being closed. Long story. Essentially the corporation is going to an outside service. So, since the documentation for our new product is the only thing we want to host...not the product itself, this has fallen to me to see if I can figure out ...

Hosting Providers—Looking for Recommendations
Is anyone familiar with hosting web help with a service provider? My company is releasing a new product/toolset combination next month and the development team wants to host the Help instead of delivering it. (It's a web help project.) Normally I'd use our own corporate data center but they are ...

Search Results Selection Page--Links Breaking
My 4.2 Dot Net Help's Search feature is not working properly. When users search for a word, a results list page displays as expected but when one of the result's items is clicked from the page, the MadCap Help Viewer displays its "page cannot be shown" error message. The target files appear to be in ...

Disabling update messages for Dot Net Viewer
Our customer support group just sent me a ticket from a customer who is running our product in a Citrix environment. They are running our product from a Citrix server and each of their individual users has an individual profile. The Dot Net Viewer lives in the individual users' profiles, such as "C ...

CSS dilemma: Glossary text in navigation pane
I've got a WebHelp project (Flare 3.1.0) that was originally converted from RH. It's been in production for a while but I want to rerelease the glossary, which has been unavailable. I've just spruced it up a bit and am ready to reveal it in the next release. The text in the navigation pane in ...
