Re: Open Type fonts
I believe I solved my own problem. I was using the font name as it imported from a Word document to a Stylesheet. Wrong name.

Re: Open Type fonts
I'm wondering is this is an Open Type problem? I'm on Flare 10 at a new client site. I thought this was fixed.

Open Type fonts
Hi All,
I've had good luck using Open Type fonts in Flare in the past but I'm not sure how to name a font in the CSS. In Word, the font is KievitOT-Regular. I haven't found the secret combination for naming this in the stylesheet. "KievitOT-Regular" doesn't work. Neither do several variations on ...

Thank you again.
I'm going to deliver the project as is and tell him that this is well-formed code in XML.
No matter how much you know about Flare, you don't know enough--which is why I like it so much.

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate your taking a look at it.
The client said he's concerned that having "&" is "is likely to impair our referral tracking and some other things."
I pointed out that this is XML and not HTML, so maybe it's just something he hasn't seen before.

Thank you for that information. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fix this particular problem.

It does. Thanks, Lisa!

Hello,

Hi John,
You have to use Adobe Acrobat Pro to enable the editing and commenting features. Then your reviewers can use the tools in Acrobat Reader.

Re: PDF Output Dropping Graphics
I've encountered this problem before and it was because some files were moved. Each "../" represents a level in the file path name. You can try to fix the path in the Text Editor, but I think it is easier with graphics to just re-insert each graphic (as you've done).

Where do these blocks appear? At the bottom of each page or one time only at the beginning of the document/help?

Re: 3 targets with conflicting condition tags - help?
When I'm working with multiple targets, I use snippets for the bulk of my topics. I set all the conditions I'll need in the snippet.
To re-use the text, I make individual topics that basically just have the header and maybe an introductory paragraph. Then I insert the snippet. I can set conditions ...

Has anyone used Acrolinx?
Hi,
My client has recently purchased the Acrolinx linguistic tool. I'm curious to know if anyone has used this tool with Flare.
Thanks,
Kathy

Re: registration marks in PDF output
If you have Adobe Acrobat Pro, you can use their Print Production tools to add the registration marks to the PDFs. I haven't tried it, but that might give you what you need.

Re: Table Single Sourcing
Somewhere in this thread, he mentioned that the documents are only a few pages long. I'm assuming that eliminates the need for chapters. Granted, this solution would be problematic for longer books.

Re: Table Single Sourcing
I would expand the footer on the first page of the page layout to include the table. Then I'd create a variable for each field and place the variables in the appropriate table cells. When it's time to generate a PDF, I'd change the variable definitions as needed and generate the document.

Re: Generate "only" these topics with conditions
You could do it the same way as the PDF. You would create multiple targets for the WebHelp. Each target has its own TOC.
Or, you could apply conditional tags to the topics, have a target for each audience, and the condition tags for each target are set appropriately.

Re: Generate "only" these topics with conditions
I think it would be a lot easier if you just created a new PDF target and made a new TOC that includes only the topics you want. I do that for "Quick Start" guides that are abridged versions of the full Help system.

I can't speak for others who have used it. I was on a team that was developing a new product. Development is not constant, but perpetual. ("scrums", I believe.) The goal for a given week might be something as small as a logon page.

Hi Jerry,
If the collective cleverness of the group doesn't come up with an answer, here's a suggestion for Plan B:
I'm working on something similar and I've placed everything in one table. I apply conditional tags to the rows/columns as necessary and then save the table as a snippet. Then you can ...

Re: Snippet with Sentence Case
One other solution would be to create a single snippet minus the first letter. You could type it in as caps or lower case as needed and then drag in the snippet. Of course, this leads to another problem of keeping the two elements together and not having it break to the next line.
That said, since ...
