We're having similar issues, not amused.
Thanks for this post, it gives me an idea of where to look to fix this.

'open in new tab' keyboard modifier not working on Mac OS
This issue has been raised by one of the developers I work with, and who uses a Mac (and Chrome/Safari). We mainly produce HTML 5 help and sometimes link to specific bookmarks, i.e. in topic A, there is a link to a bookmark within topic B (not just a link to topic B). By default such links open the ...

Re: Merging of clean XHTML outputs from different projects
Thank you for all your help and valuable advice Dave, as always.
I am not sure whether the Flare help needs updating or if the XHTML output is definitely NOT supported.
We use project import for other projects (HTML5 output) and it works well so I may explore this route.

Re: Merging of clean XHTML projects
Thanks Dave,
I figured out the setting to edit, thanks
Clean XHTML is not supported for project merging? It seems to work ok. When you mention project import, is this what MadCap refer to as Global Project Linking?

Merging of clean XHTML outputs from different projects
Hi all I am investigating project-merging and got it working for two different targets within the same project (I checked that the conditional build tags are working as expected). When I add a second project, I get the following error message when I try to build the output: More than one linked help ...

Re: Ordered list inside unordered list
Hi Thanks for the replies. I am not sure I understood what you meant Nita... I have tried putting the ordered lists inside paragraphs but that did not work. In the screenshot below, you can see the structure bar, showing 2 ordered lists inside an unordered list (left side). source-html.png Yet, the ...

Ordered list inside unordered list
Hi all I seem to have a problem with ordered lists inside unordered lists. Basically although the tags are correct in the HTML source code, the ordered list items are displayed with a bullet point. This happens both in the topic preview within Flare and in the output (clean XHTML output). Is there a ...

Non-breaking spaces
Hello, I have just seen a post about non-breaking hyphens. I provide a lot of command line examples in the help I produce (HTML5 help) and I need to add non-breaking spaces to these so that the break lines do not occur between commands and flags and double dashes and flags. I am not too sure how to ...

Edit vertical alignment in top navigation menu
Hello all, I have problems with the vertical alignment on some items in the top navigation menu: 1. I would like the >> symbol to be vertically aligned (middle) with the menu entry it corresponds to. For example, in the attachment below, for "Net new alerts", the >> seems to be aligned with the menu ...

Re: What is Flare 2016 r2?
Thank you both, I understand now. I wonder if we are not up-to-date with our Support contract (maintenance plan) with MadCap as the latest upgrade keys we received are for Flare 12. I have never heard of Flare 2016 r2 until today, and was worried that installing Flare 2017 may overwrite the Flare 12 ...

Re: What is Flare 2016 r2?
IIRC 2016r2/2017 is what amounts to Flare 13. Thank you, but this has me confused too (I can be really thick when I put my mind to it). How can I install Flare 2017 over Flare 2016 r2 then (as per the text I quoted), if these are the same version? I assumed that Flare 2016 r2 was Flare 12 but would ...

What is Flare 2016 r2?
Is it Flare 12? I am confused by the version number mentioned on the page that allows you to download a 30-day trial version: This version of Flare can be installed side-by-side with most previous Flare installations, with no conflicts. This allows authors, for example, to continue working on ...

Re: Publish failed - no such file (code=2)
Apologies for bumping this but this is still happening and I thought I had worked out why, but this is not the case.
Could this possibly be due to permission issues on the publishing server?
Has anyone seen this error message before?
Thank you in advance for your help,

Wrap content in Flare generated content for Git review
One of the developers I work with asked me if it was possible to make Flare generate code wrapped to 80/100 columns. This would make reviewing in Github a lot easier. Not entirely sure if this is feasible, and if it is, I haven't found a way of implementing this. Any ideas? Thank you. ps - I produce ...

Re: Add external link to logo in HTML5 output
I would like to change the link on the logo (top left of the HTML5 help) so that it points to the start page of our publicly available documentation (it is an external link starting with https). We have been noticing that whenever the context-sensitive ...

Popup window size - browser dependent?
Hello all We have recently upgraded to Flare 10.1 and to a WebHelp 2.0 output. We still produce HTML Help for some of our products but WebHelp2.0 (Or HTML5, but is it really HTML5 compliant?) seems to be the way forward. This output is still a bit new to me and I have a couple of popup windows that ...

CHM file with blank content pane
Hi everyone, Some Japanese customers of ours get a blank content pane when opening our help file made with Flare 8.1.2. I believe they are using IE9 and IE10. They can see the TOC on the left, but that is all. This seems to happen with all their PCs. Blank.gif They access the help file locally (from ...
