Re: "Failed to convert to PDF Font:"
Confirmed. Same issue, same error, different font (Inconsolata). Fixed with right-clicking the font and selecting "Install for all users." Thank you!

Re: Stack overflow at line 17
Adding another voice to the chorus (Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit with IE9): I've got a dependency here on IE9. I can live with the error and I've got HTML5 skins working the way I need, but Flare crashes often when working HTML5 projects. Reminds me of the Bad Old Days of Word 95 or RoboHelp 2000.

To answer Henk's query about the changing the default "My shortcut" label, you need to use a text editor. The shortcut's label is contained in the MadCap:shortcut element, but Flare's XML Editor hides the label. Here's an example ...

Re: Internal error: Failed to load Master TOC - #2
I'm conflicted here: Glad to see this UTF-16 issue get some attention after so many years. Frustrated to see folks still suffering from it after so many years.
Once I figured out what was happening, I've always been puzzled that Flare declares its XML files as UTF-8 ("encoding=utf-8") but then ...

Re: "Real" quotation marks
Yay. Flare doesn't bark when you add numbered entities.
Boo. The XML Editor quietly replaces all of your numbered entities with the Unicode. For example, “ is saved as a UTF-16 character.
Reasons why this is a bummer:
1. Flare declares the XHTML as UTF-8. Why declare the doc UTF-8 and then stuff ...

Re: Cannot widen my TOC in Word output
I've tamed this beast.
Specify a negative value for mc-leader-offset for the p.TOC styles (select "Show Generated Content Styles" to filter the Stylesheet Editor). Also, as Steve pointed out, make sure you're working in the correct medium.
This moves the page number to the right of the tab.

Re: Cannot widen my TOC in Word output
Thanks for the tip, Steve. All of my medium settings are consistent.
I think the point I was trying to make is that the effective width of the TOC in Word (the width of the heading, leader, and page number) is determined by the position of the right-aligned tab for the TOCx styles.

Re: Cannot widen my TOC in Word output
Ditto with the TOC headache in v5.
As Maj. General Confusion noted, the width of the TOC has nothing to do with width settings and everything to do with the tab stop that is set automatically for the TOC styles.
I double-checked my Normal.dot template and searched for any other templates that ...

Re: Table tags in Frame output
I logged a bug and got a response:
"This is as designed. If there are any size differences in the tables at all, each will get its own style sheet."
Apparently, I've been a bit too freewheeling in my design and application and haven't been thinking structured enough.
Huge thanks to Madcap for ...

Re: Flare detecting open FM files when none are
Hi Ann,
I ran into this myself a while ago. Drove me nuts. I'm using v3.1.
Did deleting and recreating your target also include deleting the contents of Flare's temp directories?
I cleared out the Output/ user /Temporary and Output/Temp directories, and Flare stopped complaining about ghostly ...

Re: FrameMaker choking on Flare output
Much thanks to QBF!
I'm using Flare 3.1 and Frame 8.0. I received the dreaded "Failed to connect to FrameMaker. Perhaps it's busy." error.
After clearing out the Windows temp folder (using the CCleaner app), the project generates successfully.

Table tags in Frame output
Apologies if this has been covered. The forum search doesn't let me search for "table", "tag", "style", or "stylesheet" as they're "too common words".
Anyhoo, can anyone explain why every table in my Frame output gets it's own instance of a table tag?
For example, three tables in the Flare source ...
