Re: Flare projects freeze just after startup
This began happening to me last week. Flare Support had me delete my Source Control folder (we use TFS for source control) and that solves the problem temporarily, but I freeze again the next time I start Flare.

So when declaring font sizes for online output, (after the initial declaration in the Body style, which uses pt) is there any difference between using em and %?

We are using TFS and are experiencing many of the issues described in the OP. For now, we have moved back to Flare 5 until this gets worked out.sarrants wrote:Am I the only one having problems with Source Control and Flare 6?

Centering text in a DIV
I have my DIVs set up to display with a min-height of 40px, so when I have just a single line of text, they display like this:
I would like to vertically center the text in these DIVs. I set the vertical-align property to middle, but the text doesn't move.
Any thoughts?

Re: Topic Status Feature
Some abuse conditional tags for it, which is less than ideal, but better than nothing....Adding a drop-down list with canned options and storing the selected option as comment in the topic file is probably not that tricky, but then requests come such as wanting to report on these selections, having...

Re: "latest news" feature in Flare v.4 is a bit overkill
I particularly get frustrated when the "news" is the latest marketing pitch for Madcap products. Agreed. I seem to recall Mike Hamilton saying in the What's New In Flare 4 seminar that this button would not be used for marketing pitches, even when it seemed obvious that it would be. Not a...

Re: Madcap Software Stylesheet
I've wanted to view my CSS in a text reader with the styles in alphabetical order, but I can't think of a way to get them in alphabetical order (except by manually moving things around or other ways that are even more time-consuming). Am I missing anything? Is there an easy way to do this?

Richard: Thanks! Ramon: I have tried viewing a Flare 3 generation in the Flare 4 DotNet Reader. At a glance, my help seemed imperfect, but usable. I asked for an official response so that I might benefit from some of the wisdom that MadCap might have gained during their testing. That's why I asked f...

Works for me. Are you sure the XML Editor pane is the active pane? Sometimes I have to click in the editor to be sure.

Re: Defining Variables for Topics - Can I Do This?
Thank you all for your ideas and the lively discussion. I considered using Paul's snippet condition solution, which is a good idea on a small scale, but I had so many variations that my snippet became unwieldy. I eventually created a generic snippet as a base, inserted it, converted it to text, made...

Defining Variables for Topics - Can I Do This?
Is there any way to assign a value to a variable for each topic? For example, suppose I need the following lead-in for three different topics: Topic1: Use the Post Customer Finance Charge screen to post customer finance charge entries. Topic2: Use the Post Time & Material Invoices screen to post...

Re: Printing From Analyzer
OK. I found a way. A little kludgy, but a way nonetheless. First, I created a report (though the View - Report command) and selected the tables I wanted. Then I clicked Generate to generate the report. Once I did that, the Open in Browser button became enabled, so I clicked that to send the output t...

Printing From Analyzer
Is there any way to print or otherwise share the results of an Analyzer scan? My company has 2 Flare licenses and 1 Analyzer license. I want to scan the other person's help project and share some of the results with her, but I don't see any way to do this. Am I missing something? (And I really reall...

You are certainly not alone. I have had all kinds of issues with tables in Flare. My favorite is when my tablestyle declarations inexplicably disappear (though this one is mostly under control). One thing, though: When I encounter the "Red Square of Death," I am usually able to click Conti...

I have been having the same problem since I licensed Analyzer 3 weeks ago. One funny thing though: Analyzer worked well when I ran it in the Trial Mode. My problems began the moment I entered my license key. Since then, I have worked with the MadCap support folks who have had me uninstall and reinst...
