Re: Unwanted page break in TocProxy and IndexProxy
After a little fiddling i reset the page-break-after property of the table style to default and all the unwanted pagebreaks in the generated TOC and Index magically disappeared. I would have expected the tr style to be of effect for the proxies, but ...

Unwanted page break in TocProxy and IndexProxy
Hi all, my proxies worked fine until i edited the table and table cell properties. Now the heading 1 is displayed on a separate page as well as the first entry of the generated TOC. I know that the proxies generate internal tables for the printed documents but i have no idea which propertiy caused t...

Re: search.js for generated skin
Thank you David. So if Chrome is not a supported browser of the webhelp, can i delete the .js file in the data folder of the generated webhelp?
Does it have any influence on the Chrome compatibility if i insert line breaks in the search.js files?

search.js for generated skin
Hi there, Flare version 7 generates a new javascript file in the data folder of the webhelp output: search.js. It seams to contain equal information as the search.xml file in the same folder. But the information in search.js file is contained in one single line, which is too long to be accepted by a...

Re: IE8 and Security Warning dialog box
With Flare 5 this solution worked. With Flare 6 i am not so sure. Sometimes it workes, somestimes not. It is not predictable, after which generation the security warning will appear. Are there any other reasons, why this error message appears?
Thanks a lot in advace

Re: Incorrect index sort order in Japanese
There is no answer yet, but we work on the same issue. So, is there a solution? Maybe an undocumented attribute for the Madcap:keyword tag? Or a workaround for manipulating the sort order according to Adobe?
Thanks for any help,

Re: Getting CSH WebHelp to Reuse Target Window
Hi David, one possible use case for this problem is that 2 different helps running on the same machine or web server suddenly use the same target window. Then it must be possible, to rename the window other wise one help overwrites the other in the help window, as it is the case for our customers pr...

Disabling Instant Messaging
Joy, you do not need an internet connection to work with Flare. But i agree, the message is annoying and misleading. Re: One HUGE topic or umpteen smaller projects - what to do?
Hi deb09, as i understand, your main questions may be: handling different layouts for different customers (agencies): currently three and growing handling content for different target groups (manager, worker, guest) handling different output (printed doc, help and context sensitive help) Flare proje...

Heavy network traffic through broadcasts
To warm up this thread again: is there any possibility to stop the broadcasts in the local area network because some customers are nagging about the heavy traffic slowing down the network capacity.

AFAIK there is nothing like batch editing in Flare. But why not use the master page or page layout (depending on your output) to place the link on every page of your output?

As there is no answer to my question i have submitted a bug report although i am not sure, if this relates to a certain option in IE6. Different icon size for expanded and drop down text
Hi all, this relates to webhelp output running on a XP machine in IE6. Is this a known problem with IE6, maybe? I could not find any information about the icon size. I am using Flare's default icons for expanded and drop down text and the result is just weird and not predictable as you can see in th...

So was it the Flash player disturbing Flare to start properly?
I have a customer reporting the same error: Flare can be started with a double-click on the project, but when starting with a double-click on the Flare icon on desktop, this error appears.

Re: Index spacing in print
The p.index styles are the correct ones to format the entries generated by the index proxy. p.index1 is for the first level, p.index2 for the second and so on. As i understand, the padding attributes just insert or exclude some white spaces or so, but to increase or decrease the space between the li...
