Missing clicks, trajectories, etc.
I recorded several short videos yesterday and all of them have missing clicks, trajectories, and inconsistent cursor speed (it was different then the actual speed I used during the recording). Also, there were several occasions where Mimic did not record the last actions in a sequence, even after ...

Re: Retaining Syntax in Code Snippets
When I try to use the <pre> tag and paste in the text, neither color nor spacing is retained. I don't get the "Paste Text" dialog either (where you can choose to paste as a paragraph, inline text, etc.) Am I missing something simple here?

Re: Retaining Syntax in Code Snippets
Thank you for all of the suggestions. Importing the Word document into the project retains the color-coding but not all of the spacing. The color-coding is half of the battle, so that works for now.
I like the "snippet for a snippet" idea but since I'm the sole writer here, I'll have to save that ...

Re: Retaining Syntax in Code Snippets
Hi Leon,
Thanks for the suggestion. However, I need to use text rather than images so the developers can copy the text from the PDF or WebHelp and edit as necessary.

Retaining Syntax in Code Snippets
I'm working on an API document with some code samples. The developer provided the code snippets in Word but when I copy/paste the text into Flare, the syntax is lost (color and block formatting). Is there a way to retain the syntax without mind-numbing local formatting?

Re: Topic displays HTTP 500 error from TOC
The issue is in the production help that was sent out to clients in December. The topic works fine when I view the help from my project and I haven't edited the topic since last fall.

Topic displays HTTP 500 error from TOC
Hello,
I have a WebHelp project deployed through a web application on an intranet. There is one topic that displays the standard HTTP 500 error ("The website cannot display the page") when accessed from the TOC. If I search for this topic and open it from the Search pane, it opens just fine. There ...

Copy of page layout: edits affect original
Hi,
I created one page layout named "Main", copied it, and renamed it "TOC". Now when I edit the TOC page layout, the same change is propagated to the Main page layout. For instance, the Main page layout has the page number variable in the header. When I delete the page number variable from the TOC ...

Re: Easy way to print a help TOC (like in RoboHelp)?
I thought about using screenshots but then the document wouldn't be searchable (this TOC is about 30 pages long when printed).
I ended up importing the Flare project into an old copy of RoboHelp and using the Print TOC capability there. The TOC didn't translate backwards exactly as it was in Flare ...

Easy way to print a help TOC (like in RoboHelp)?
Hello,
For prospective clients, we distribute a PDF of the help system TOC on request. We want the prospect to see the structure of the help system without releasing any of the content. In RoboHelp, there was a Print TOC option - it would print the TOC exactly as it appeared in the TOC editor.

No worries - I didn't think to search for the placeholders that were supported until you mentioned it.
I'll definitely submit this as an enhancement request.

Re: WebHelp Search - partial matches?
Thanks for the suggestion Ramon. I tried using the asterisk to search for *deal and *commitments and still didn't get the results I expected. I also found a topic in the Knowledge Base listing the Boolean variables that work for WebHelp but * and ? weren't in the list.

WebHelp Search - partial matches?
Does the WebHelp output search support partial matches? When I search for part of a word in my generated WebHelp output, I don't get any results or I don't get the results I expect. This issue occurs with words that are made up of other words, such as AllocateDealCommitments and ...
