Shifting Content Up to Save Space

I have some smaller topics in the output. The PDF target is starting each one on a new page. Is there a way to shift it up where the content is continuous instead being broken at the page level? Thank you.

-gen- PDF output pages

When creating a printable PDF, I am getting several pages labeled -gen- that are blank. I have searched and am not finding out what is causing these. I have attached a screenshot as well as my TOC structure.

Thank you.

Re: Build error when adding pdf file to TOC

If I understand you correctly, you could create a new entry in the TOC and link it to the PDF file.

Re: Search Results for Topics NOT included in TOC

Selecting the option in the Topic Properties screen should work. However, when you build, Flare always deletes and rebuilds the search*.xml files -- the chunks that contain the indexing of the search terms. It could be that your browser didn't load those new search files (or maybe you didn't upload...

Search Results for Topics NOT included in TOC

Trying to find the best way to accomplish the scenario. There are a few topics that should not be included in the Search. There are topics that are used in more than one TOC and Target. What is the best way to EXCLUDE a topic in a search? I have tried the unchecking the Include when Full Text Search...

Duplicitous TOC

For some reason, on a PDF output, I am getting a duplicitous Table of Contents page. One is kind of "ghosted" and is a blank page in the view pane of the PDF reader. The other is a populated TOC with contents in the view pane of the PDF reader. I have looked at the TOC and the Target, but ...

Blank Pages showing up in PDF output

For some reason, I am having extra (blank pages show up.) The index page only contains a few entries and I have placed it at the end, and there is an entire blank page. Also, the same occurs before the TOC page (a single blank page at the beginning of the project). I have checked the chapter setting...

Feedback Server Domain Trust Inquiry

Two domains:

Dev
Prod

Dev trusts Prod
Prod does not trust Dev

Feedback Service is on Dev.

Placing a webhelp plus in Prod, will the Feedback Service be able to work properly? I am not certain how the communication works with Feedback Server.

Thank you.

Whats the best way to exit a MadCapDrop Down Control?

How do you exit the MadCapDropDown control on the design view? I guess I am missing something easy. Unbind kills the entire control(class). Not sure what to do here easily.

I found IT...use the down arrow cursor til it flattens and hit return..Good grief. I hope this short thread will help someone.

Where are the My Colors stored?

I have a project that I opened on another PC and the colors that I have added are not showing up? Where are they stored in the project files? Also is there a way to label them or edit their name?

Thank you.

That issue should be moved toward the handful that are popular. Heck you could say the same thing about outputs in general. Thats the way it is, otherwise we would be with just chm. I know my company right now is really paying attention to mobility including, BB and iOS. a few formats for mobile out...

Re: How about a MadCap Exchange?

That would be rather Spartan in my area. Hardly anyone around here even knows about it. I am actually using RH but have proposed moving to Flare platform. I have used it the past few years at Lexis, but I am no longer there. A centralized Exchange on here would be a great place to start. I think the...

Re: How about a MadCap Exchange?

It would be a great start if authors (esp. venerated ones) and Madcap could provide items like master page layout template, page layout templates, scripts, tricks and tips; CSS, table styles etc.

Not certain of why it is not done already. good way to network and improve product usability as well.

I am having difficulty in getting this to work properly. Moreover, inserting the code. Using the html text editor in Flare keeps placing the span tags around everything... Imported RH Projects/HTML displaying as blank.

The Flare Topic is blank and contains the usual HTML. I found out that the MINITOC in RH does not jive well. I removed the MINITOC Placeholder code and it seemed to to import properly. May want to take note of that. Perhaps the new version could contain some way to import or remove the minitoc funct...

I am posing some possible workflow changes and am doing some researching. I have watched the demo on the XEdit review. Do the annotations sent back become part of the project? Do they work with a source environment? Is there any way to use the send for review besides the email system? Can XEdit revi...
