Re: HTML5 search highlighter
Scott, thanks for creating this workaround for the search highlight. I followed your instructions and it works great. If I could add a request ... it would be great if the search results would automatically open a drop-down hotspot when the search term is hidden inside it. Do you know how to do that...

I was wondering what those Basic and Advanced folders were for in the output. Thanks for clarifying.

Re: Mobile help for tablets
I recently created some help for smartphones and tablets. I used the mobile webhelp for both. The tablet version of our app has the same help URL as the mobile version of the app. I added some responsive styling to change the screenshot size for the two outputs, but that's about it. You can see it h...

Re: TOC as startup topic?
I agree that requiring users to tap the Table of Contents option to go directly into the real list of help topics adds an extra, unnecessary step. Presumably that homepage on the mobile webhelp shows a larger menu: Table of Contents, Index, Glossary, and About. However, the Index and About options a...

Re: generating output files: MyWebHelp, MyMSWord
I publish my webhelp to a SharePoint destination. I recently reformatted my computer and reinstalled Flare. When I tried to publish to the destination, I kept getting an error message that said "Access is Denied." The folder denied access was SharePoint (even though I was logged in to that...

Stems and Index Keywords and the Search Algorithm
I'm using the index keywords to basically stuff metakeywords into my topics to influence Flare's search. I've read that exact matches have the most weight when it comes to search results. If I have a topic that is called "Create New Teams," should I add as many variations to the word creat...

Re: Limit Search Results
Unfortunately when I expand the label filters into a small phrase, the Search box shrinks. This only happens in IE, but what a pain.

Re: Limit Search Results
Hey Dave, quick question. Do you know if it's possible to add some text before the search filter set, and possibly to change the name Filters and create a different style for it? I want to find the source file in Flare to make this modification, but I can't seem to locate it.

Re: Limit Search Results
Thanks Dave. I am familiar with the search filter set option and have used it. I just don't think it's that useful in the way I implemented it. I'm thinking of trying something a little new. Do you think I could use concept markers similar to Tags (the way tags are used in WordPress) and then provid...

Limit Search Results
I would like to limit the number of search results returned in Flare's webhelp output. Currently if I search for a term, the results can include more than 130 different topics. Surely there's a way to limit this to about 20, right?

Re: PDF Build Error: Object reference not set to an instance ...
Thanks Ltinker. This is my favorite error message, by the way. I think Adobe should print up some shirts with this error message on it and give it away at the Summit. Then maybe Madcap would do something about the message. (BTW, I know there are some other forum threads that discuss the vagueness of...

Re: PDF Build Error: Object reference not set to an instance ...
I did some troubleshooting. It turns out the div tags in the topic containing my TOC proxy caused the build error. The div tags just referenced a style that defined a width for the content. When I removed the div tags from that topic, the build error disappeared.

Re: Add Videos Section to Relationship Table?
It turns out that I was making a simple error. In my relationship table, I called the new column "video." In my stylesheet, I called it "videos." When I made the terms the same, the new section appeared just fine. Thanks for your help with this Nita.

Re: Add Videos Section to Relationship Table?
Interesting. I thought I tried that, but maybe I'll try it again. Are you able to generate as many sections as you want (not just three)?
Re Related Topics, I actually just put the relationships table proxy in a drop-down hotspot that I called Related Topics.

Add button to toolbar that points to a topic
This seems like a common request, but I couldn't find it addressed in the help forums. I want to put a button on my webhelp toolbar that points to a specific page in the help where I have a bunch of PDF documents. I know how to create a custom button and point it to a page -- but the page opens in a...

Re: Add Videos Section to Relationship Table?
Maybe it's the way I've styled my relationship table proxy in the output, but each of my topics appears under the respective concept-task-reference headings, which I've changed to Concepts and Screens, Basic Tasks, and Advanced Tasks. relationshiptable.jpg (Note: Topic titles are redacted for confid...

Re: Add Videos Section to Relationship Table?
Oh, I didn't realize that I could type a name for the column instead of selecting an option from the drop-down list. However, this doesn't actually solve my problem. When you add topics into your custom column, that custom column doesn't appear in the Relationships Table proxy when you embed it on a...

Add Videos Section to Relationship Table?
Relationship tables have three sections by default: concepts, tasks, and reference. I want to add a fourth category: videos. Is this possible? I see how to add additional columns in the relationship table editor, but I'm forced to select the type of column -- concept, task, or reference. How do I ge...

Mini-TOC Bug -- Duplicate display of titles
I have a mini-TOC in my webhelp. I've noticed that in Flare v6, there seems to be a bug that duplicates the display of some topic titles. The first topic in each folder gets duplicated in the mini-TOC. Anyone else experience this? Note that my folder structure looks like this: Folder Subfolder Subfo...
