Yes - I'm trialing the online wizard idea at the moment specifically to deal with troubleshooting scenarios.
For the areas where I wanted more of a flow diagram I've had to fall back on using lists of drop-downs using up or down arrows as the lst image under differently coloured header blocks.

Re: Flows - Is there a way to create flows in Flare?
I also wanted to do something similar but ran into problems. I did use a flowchart saved as an image and then hyperlinked. Lot of work but looked good until I realisd that that solution is no good for responsive outputs,as the linked area ends up nowhere near the oignal point. I'm still wanting to p...

Re: Printing topic in Chrome has a grey background
Having reported this to Madcap it appears that this is a bug introduced in Chrome v61 which they are working on. I have been given a workaround if anyone else is seeing the issue and wants to message me.

Re: Printing topic in Chrome has a grey background
I have some background-color settings but none of them will affect this. Having used the Inspect option the grey background seems to be caused by a plugin Chrome is using to produce the print output. The body background colour is set there so I don't see how I can do anything about it. Dev tools als...

Printing topic in Chrome has a grey background
Users are finding that printing pages in Chrome gives a grey background. Print medium has no background setting on body or html. I've got the same happening on Chrome but not in Firefox or IE. I've tried setting the print medium to none as well as adding !important but cannot clear the print backgro...

Basically we have not yet found a way of incorporating a third party search engine into Flare other than a redirect.

Re: Third-party search engines
That would be me. I haven't forgotten but we're still looking into integrating completely (blown off course by changing roadmaps) but have not yet found any way of integrating other than redirecting the search results to a separate site. The Zoom search application is very customisable.

Re: Two versions on published page using versioning script
Thanks both. That works for showing the current version option every time - but didn't in IE (who would guess) which unfortunately virtually all our customers use. FYI it turned out to be because we were publishing using the aspx extension. It's fine in html. However, I'm still seeing both versions ...

Re: Two versions on published page using versioning script
Many thanks for looking at this. However, when I try to save after adding "selected" into my first line: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <html xmlns:MadCap="http://www.madcapsoftware.com/Schemas/MadCap.xsd" MadCap:lastBlockDepth="1" MadCap:las...

Two versions on published page using versioning script
I temporarily need to publish a large number of topics where part of the content shows 2 different versions of the same software - the current version and a redesigned version. The help is to be published to one site. I've used Thomas Tregner's script http://tregner.com/flare-blog/version-filters-in...

Re: Unwanted Foundation sticky container wrapping menu
Embarassed :-( Must have changed that when messing about with the fixed menu proxy trying to understand what was going on. One of these days I'll work out exactly what Flare does at publish. I was bothered that it was something to do with the script bugs/menu build changes in r2 causing the issue. A...

Unwanted Foundation sticky container wrapping menu
I have a side menu built with the menu proxy which was scrolling with the rest of the topic contents. I've just implemented Thomas Tregner's versioning script ( http://tregner.com/flare-blog/version-filters-in-html5-output/ ) which is great and does exactly what I need. But now the menu is fixed to ...

Re: Breadcrumbs stopped displaying
Sorted - it appears to be an issue just with my Windows 10 PC. Everyone else can see the breadcrumbs properly. I can't say it surprises me - had nothing but random problems with this PC since Windows 10 was installed.

Re: Breadcrumbs stopped displaying
Could well have been. I'm working on a Top Nav version so haven't had my full attention on the existing and haven't really made any changes to it. Normally use FF, but just tested in Chrome, Edge and Safari and all give the same result. I'm working remotely so I'll get the tech section to have a loo...

Breadcrumbs stopped displaying

Images regenerating and Antivirus issues
Anyone any thoughts on this? As I build now I'm seeing lots of messages in the Compile Status field flashing up as "Image-----.png" regenerated for ""medium:resources\images\..\..\image---.png" The regenerate images option is not ticked and as far as I can see the images con...

If it's any help, we're adding Zoom search in to our output. I have the same issue - users type in full phrases and questions. Everyone expects a search function to work like Google

Re: Review / Track changes problems
This issue for me now fixed - Madcap support made some editing changes to my local stylesheet for the other issue linked above and re-iterated that the Track Changes button should be greyed out if you DO want to use it. Seems completely the wrong way round to me that there you go...I'm still seeing ...

Re: Options under Home and Insert menus unavailable
This turned out to be related to an incorrectly coded stylesheet. An incorrect space added to one entry, and a couple of media query ending brackets wrong. Slightly puzlled as to why they had the effect of removing drop-down options but, hey ho, it's fixed...

Having the same problem (along with another - viewtopic.php?f=13&t=28209) both of which I've raised with Support. Toggling the Track Changes options has no effect. If we get it sorted I'll post back to this thread.

Re: Options under Home and Insert menus unavailable
I take your point but I am using Flare through VPN on a Widows 10 machine which throws all sorts of peculiar actions anyway (randomly starting Navigator, opening random window during typing etc...) so I don't trust it. Once I've got some free time (hah) I might go down the uninstall route when in th...

Options under Home and Insert menus unavailable
Help - is this me? Most of the time I cannot access any options where there are drop-downs available from a menu. For example, using the List button on the Home menu opens the list dropdown but then greys it out. I have been using Flare since v3 and cannot for the life of me think of something I hav...

Find and replace with regular expressions
Hi all - I needed to remove a chunk of content from every topic which included an email jscript link so it was difficult to use the standard Find and replace option in Flare. I eventually via a blog link on Dave Lee's site (https://ukauthor.wordpress.com/) found this post describing how to search fo...

Re: UI text in Search Input field - Top Nav output
Hi Nita - an honorary "Stroudie" then  On checking the HomeSearchBar skin, the placeholder was set correctly but there was no entry for Placeholder at all in the HTML5 - Top Navigation skin at all so I've added that and the output is now showing correctly. Many thanks for pointing me...

UI text in Search Input field - Top Nav output
Hi all - I am using the Top Nav header and have changed the UI text on both the HTML - Top Nav and Home Search Bar Skin editors. I'm baffled as to why my changed wording does not show in the search field for my topics but does on the home page. I've set the language to English - UK on the Target and...
