Re: Vertical text in a table header?
I just tried ... you have to apply the rotation to a block level element like a DIV. So I placed DIVs inside the header and then the text. No luck. So much no luck that Flare crashed
. I am out of discretionary time ... maybe another attempt after this release.

Re: PDF Output: Problems with Translated Text
Still there in Flare 6. The only font I get to "work" correctly is SimHei, a Simplified Chinese font. All other Japanese fonts result in Kanji characters being output in the correct font while Katakana and Hiragana characters re-map to SimSun and look ... really bad.

Re: Transparency in images not working for PDF output!
This still occurs, at least in PDFs.
We generally don't scale images, esp. for a web solution, so I can't comment on that. What I can comment on is that this is bad. Very bad. Especially as it is more than a year old.

Re: Paragraph styles within FM table cells getting lost?
Thanks!
We're much more inclined towards "hacking" the import file than adding and removing.
Especially since we're talking an import of around 25 manuals and there is no telling what might be where.
Will.

Re: Paragraph styles within FM table cells getting lost?
Yup. Looking for a solution. Have you come across one?
This seems to occur if the style is used only in the table, such as a "cellHead" or "cellBody" style.

Controlling autonumbering from FM
Hi - Any advice on autonumbering? We keep a running tally of figures across the chapters in a book. When I do an import the numbers reset on each HTML page.
That is not great but understandable to an extent. I would like to know how to fix that.
More importantly, when a figure is referenced that ...

Re: Topics under 1000 characters
The data in FM are strictly paragraph styles, no manual over-rides or character styles are applied. We use very strict structure in our docs without actually being structured FM.
The tags are Head1, Head2, Head3, etc..

Re: Cross references do not work
Well, I guess the cross-refs that were not working (i.e. did not actually go anywhere) are to numbered figures. That is another topic I will be posting.
As for the rest, I understand the concept of building the x-ref using operators. I was trying to find where and how, the online help kept implying ...

Re: Topics under 1000 characters
Did you tell Flare to create new topics when it encounters a specific style? [snip] ... it sounds like you're expecting Flare to create a new topic any time it encounters a heading: it can do that, but you have to tell it to do so.
yes ... the title and first three headings.

Re: Frame images - multiple in a frame - come in gray
After searching the KB I see a note http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/Content/Flare/Importing/IMP1008-F%20Imported%20FrameMaker%20Images%20Call%20out.htm that says:

Error: Stack Empty
Hi - I am attempting to do a little test case from a simple 10 page FM file. I set everything up (not really different than other definitions) and when I click "Finish" the conversion begins and errors out with "Error: Stack Empty".

Cross references do not work
How does one make a cross reference work when importing from FrameMaker? I have looked over the Help files but ... they're no help.
Second, how does one define the format of the cross reference? E.g., in FM it is fine for the file to reference a page number, but that is certainly a no-go for online ...

Topics under 1000 characters
I disabled the option to 'Avoid creating "empty" topics' when importing from FrameMaker. This appears not to work despite my resetting it and regenerating the output? Any input on how to solve this? The attached image shows an H1 with two H2s below it. I also have instances where there is a page ...

Frame images - multiple in a frame - come in gray
Hi ... When I am importing FM files, any and all image frames that have >1 image within the frame get imported as a single image = good. What is bad is that all of the contents are simply gray, the content is not rendered. See below.
