Re: Automatically add shadow to image?
I don't think it's unreasonable to expect WYSIWYG from a HAT. And, as a general rule of the thumb, if MS Word has a button for it, then I think it's reasonable for Flare to also do so. Some of us don't enjoy messing around with .css and just want to get the documentation done.

Automatically add shadow to image?
Hi folks - I've been very grateful for all the help I've received here so far...
Is there a way of tricking/fooling/configuring Flare to add shadows to images, in this case screencaps for PDF output?
I've tried tinkering with borders and margins, but to no avail.
Cheers and thanks in advance ...

Screencapture standards (help?)
Hi guys
I'd be very grateful for any suggestions as to the following:
What standards should I set for screen captures for use in both pdf and web output?
E.g. .png? .jpg?
Any particular resolution?
Anything else I should think about?
Cheers and thanks in advance

Cross-reference open topic - where the did it go?
We just upgraded to the latest version of Flare. It's nicer than before, except some unthinking person has removed the option to cross-reference an open topic. I'm flabbergasted!

Re: Problem with hyperlinks in PDF
This is all very well, but...
.... how do I tell Flare to just accept whatever formatting the rest of the paragraph has? (Some of my table text is blue.)
And, I must say, there really should be a button for this in the target.

Barebones field-level help popups (WebHelp, Flare 4.2)
Hi folks
I've been tasked to produce field-level help* for a web application.
*I appreciate this may be no longer fashionable.
Some fields have a "?" button. Clicking the button has to open a popup window with documentation just for that field.
How do I tell Flare to display this in a browser ...

Re: webhelp margins?
I'd rather not do this via the css styles themselves - way too fiddly.
I tried tweaking the Body padding and margin settings; no result!
Is there some cunning way to do this globally?

Is there a server version of Flare
At the risk of lookign stupid, does anybody know if it is possible to get a server version of Flare - you know the kind of thing, one installation, one repository, but several licenses?
Or, is that what TeamServer is for?

How about an Index Editor?
(Forgive me if this has been discussed - the forum search says "index" is too common a term to look for!)
It would be very nice indeed if Flare had an index editor which enabled you to edit the keywords as they appear in the index, and then propagated the changes to the index markers in the topics ...

Re: AutoNumber issue - unwanted borders from td!
Just to clarify:
The paragraphs of autonumbered styles are not supposed to be inside a table!
The gridlines just appear as soon as I add borders to the td style.
The td style shouldn't affect the autonumbered styles, but it does.

Re: AutoNumber issue - unwanted borders from td!
The borders are the internal gridlines. Not having them messes up the format and usability of the tables.alaltenburg wrote:How does it mess up your tables when borders are switched off? That seems to me the only fix if you turn borders off.
Andrea
Yes, we're turning them off for now. Have already lodged a bug.

AutoNumber issue - unwanted borders from td!
In WebHelp output, my AutoNumbered* styles inherit gridlines from the td style (see below).
UnwantedGridInAutoNumberedStyle.PNG
If I switch off the borders in td, the issues goes away. However, this messes up my tables**.
Does anybody know a sensible workaround?

Re: Table margins don't work (Flare 4.2)
The solution is to open the topic in a text editor and remove the margin code from the table tag. That will allow the settings in your CSS to be used.
If you think this is a bad way for Flare to behave, please send Madcap a bug report. If enough of us complain maybe they'll fix it.

Table margins don't work (Flare 4.2)
Hi folks
Help! I can't get the Table Margins to work.
I created a Table Style .css, and set Table Margin/Left to "50mm". No indent in the prieview view. No indent in the output.
I also followed the instructions in the knowledge base ( http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/default_Left.htm#CSHID=Patches ...

Re: WebHelp output generates "Runtime Error"
Thanks! Actually I've resolved the issue by using the debugger and guessing how the Java maps to the Skin settings.
The problem was in the skin, namely in Styles/ToolbarItem/Logo/Properties/Basic/OnClick.
It turns out that the setting really does want a JavaScript and not a URL.

We're using Flare 3.1.0, with Internet Explorer 6.0.Problems with this Web page might prevent it from displaying properly...(etc)

No custom scripts.
Another error message indicates problem is in /skin/toolbar.htm
