It seems that glossary terms are not included in search.
I tried adding the glossary to a topic using a glossary proxy, but that did not cause the glossary terms to come up in search.
Has anyone found a workaround for this?

Can I record frames in multiple Recording modes?
I'm new to Mimic, FYI. I'm trying to record the first frame of my movie in Video mode, which I was able to do. Then I want to do the rest of the frames in Manual mode. I'm using the Record New Frames option. The first few times I tried, I got a memory error and could not save the new frames. So, I t...

Re: How do I check my license key for Flare?
Yes, I've spent a silly number of hours lining things up. I guess it would be smart to have been tracking in a spreadsheet from the beginning. But I haven't been at this particular place "from the beginning."

Re: How do I check my license key for Flare?
I discovered that you can find this in the registry. Start menu>Run. Enter "Regedit" and the Registry Editor is displayed. On the menu tree, select HKEY__CURRENT_USER > Software > MadCap Software > Flare > License. Now I'm looking for a way to match up the license keys to the correct maint...

transitioning to new SVN integration
Hi, all. I've been using Tortoise to submit my files to SVN. I'd like to switch to using the new, better SVN integration and submit files from within Flare. I'm concerned about binding the project from within Flare, since it's already bound. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to start? Thanks, K...

Re: Error Message: Failed to copy and resize image
I seem to be having the same issue. I prefer to set my images to a percentage, because I've got div tags set up via my master page, and I've got my related links off to the side. However, it just doesn't feel right not to resolve the errors I'm getting in the build. Did anyone find a solution for th...

Re: change color of listOfProxy
I believe it, it seems logical.
I'll still have the indention to fix, though, and the hyperlinks will be ok in this case.
Thanks,
Kristi

Re: change color of listOfProxy
I did try that, for both the listOfProxy style and the GenListOfPageTextListOf style. The first only gave me a bullet on the first item, the second gave me a bullet on all but the first item, until I clicked a link and returned to it--visited links had no bullet. Hmm, so I guess that means I could s...

Re: change color of listOfProxy
Thanks, Lisa. I was able to style the entries to look more like links with this info. However, I haven't been able to style them to look like my other list items, and for some reason, list styles are not available in the proxy drop down that defines a style for the entries. I'm linking to our websit...

Re: From Flare to QT help
Hmm, did you provide the .chm in order to provide the header/alias, and the mobile help to actually be loaded?
I'm trying to work out why you provided both.
Did you only have context-sensitive help--was there not a place where you displayed a full toc?

change color of listOfProxy
I'm having trouble fully formatting the list of elements that is generated by a list-of proxy. Here is the formatting as I have applied it in the stylesheet. It underlines the items for me, but it doesn't apply the color (blue). Any suggestions? MadCap|listOfProxy { text-decoration: underline; color...

I found the BOM fix mentioned here: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=7448&p=41734&hilit=byte+order+mark#p41734 Does anyone why removing this lets it load? I'd like to be able to talk about it intelligently when I propose this possible solution to our developers. We'r...

SVN/PushOK issue: offline, can't access repository
I installed the PushOK plugin to work with Subversion, but I'm having trouble connecting to the repository. I've confirmed that I'm using the right credentials for the Subversion server, and the right URL and module. But when I try to check in files, Flare asks if I want to continue in offline mode....

Re: From Flare to QT help
I was told there are no plans to add a QT output. MadCap pointed out that the mobile help may be the easiest to convert to QT help, since it is so stripped down. Right now, our assumption is that we'll be able to use an XSL transform to convert the navigation and linking and build QT help from the W...

From Flare to QT help
I'm working with a team that would like me to provide HTML files to build a QT help system. (Info on building QT help: http://doc.qt.nokia.com/4.6/qthelp-framework.html#generating-qt-help) I would write the topics in Flare, but I don't think I'd be able to maintain the index, TOC, or context help th...

Re: Google Analytics Search
Did you ever find this out? I'm considering Google Analytics for our webhelp. Did you have to do anything different than what you would do for a website? Do your customers install the file locally?
Thanks,
Kristi

Re: editing for automatic builds
Hi, Ramon- Maybe the FDA regulations change things in some way, I am not familiar with those rules, but I do think that the help files don't have to be disengaged from software. Automatic build processes can include automatic builds of the help pulling the sources from source control using a specifi...

Re: editing for automatic builds
We are advocating to divorce the help files from the software files. They'd be installed at the same time--we'll want to provide updated help at the same time as updated software--but the hope is that we can get a couple of things out of doing this. 1)We can edit content closer to the delivery date ...

Re: editing for automatic builds
I should have mentioned that we have a pretty thorough quality check. Right now, our help systems are installed as part of the software, and are only updated if the user takes an upgrade. I'm trying to picture how our stringent, slooow testing process will change once we get away from that and move ...

editing for automatic builds
I have a question for people who do automatic builds of their help systems. If you are updating a couple of topics at a time and pushing them out to users once they're updated, how do you manage your quality reviews for those topics? We are thinking of building WebHelps in this way, but we want to m...

Re: Inserting Code Comments into Legacy Topics
I wasn't aware of the topic styles! Now we have a couple of options. I think that, combined with the ability to sort the files by their various properties in the File List option, this will help ease the pain of categorizing topics. It would be nice to have a check box to apply the topic styles acco...
