Thanks Nita - that did the trick. Although the solution took a weird turn and I am not sure why I got the problem in the first place.
I took your advice and lowered the breakpoint value. First to 600. Yeahhh, it worked. I made a couple of iterations increaing the number each time. For the third ...

Re: Top Nav bar - show/hide TOC
i never really go to that point. This was my first in doing a top nav. It looked really honkey dorey when I had done my customization (colors, font, logo, etc.). The menu bar displayed really well, exactly as I wanted it to.
From there on I have no idea what happened to my setup. Yes, I only see ...

Top Nav bar - show/hide TOC
I have - inadvertently - added a Show/Hide TOC in my top nav pane. I am not aware that I have checked anything off or the like, but all of a sudden my nicely styled menu bar and submenus are no longer there. The only thing I see in my compiled output now is the show/hide button. The Preview, though ...

Re: Can't run Equation Editor after v9.1 upgrade
My hunch is that our system admin has blocked the use of this update for me. A recent acquisition (=new ownership) has made our security much more stringent (to the extent where it is a bit out of whack). However, that's besides the point, I still need to be able to use e e. without security issues ...

Re: Can't run Equation Editor after v9.1 upgrade
I tried the Java 21 update and uninstalled the 45 update that I had first installed. But the only thing I got out of it was a crash in Flare when it tried to load the equation editor. Are you any closer at getting a solution to the problem?

Linked PDF doesn't show in HTML5 output
I have a project that I recently started to output to HTML5. I just discovered that my usual link to a "printer friendly version," (PDF) doesn't work. I have made sure it points to the right file but otherwise I haven't changed anything. I would think that this should work just as it did in the .chm ...

ooooh - forget this. My brain must have been on vacation this morning. I didn't notice that I had Medium set to Print. I thought I was done being fooled by this setting (obviously not
). Sorry guys. Go back to work.

Drop-down margins - where are they?
I believe that I have selected all possible options for "View." Hovwever, in V9 I don't seeem to be able to display the left margins for the drop-down list, (See fig) in particular where it ends. Am I missing a setting somewhere or have they in fact been let go of?

Conditions in page layout
It doesn't seem to be possible to add conditions to page layout? Have anyone tried this? I have a two-product project and want to show different images in the page layout. Remove borders for image maps
I may be blind but I just can't find the info in the online Help. I have inserted an image map and it keeps adding a blue border around my image. I know that in a previous version of Flare you could hide the borders. But where is this setting now???

No hits when word is inside drop-down list
I have numerous and numerous descriptions of attributes and parameters in tables. For a better overview of the topic I have added these tables within a drop-down. But it is not possible to search for keywords within a collapsed drop-down - only when I expand them. So my users complain big time that ...

Limited flexibility with DotNet Help - what do you think?
I have started the journey to offer dynamic Help to my users. Maybe it will be a very short one.
At first I thought that would be so cool - no need to hit F1, the relevant help topic is right there in front of you.
After some time playing around with the new format I am not so sure anymore. As an ...

Missing variable in cross-references in edit mode
When you (like me) have variables in H1 and have your cross-refs set to link to H1 then you will know that the variables don't show when you are in edit mode. I reported this as a bug a long time ago but it hasn't been fixed yet - maybe because it's not a show stoppe as the variables display nicely ...

if you generate PDF I recommend using the page layout files. In there you can easily modify both your headers and footers to your requirements .

Re: Japanese font (MS Mincho) not rendering in PDF output
I belive this is a codepage issue related to the PDf distiller. I had a problem with Chinese PDF output and submitted a bug report. My issue on the Chinese characters was resolved in V6 of Flare. So I suspect that this could be the issue with the MS Mincho.

Thanks - having almost ripped my head off a couple of times because I didn't understand why a particular style didn't change I now always check my Medium
But I will check the style under Unclassified, though. Thanks for the hint.

No support for sub-sections in cross-references?
I have a cross-reference to a sub section in one of my topics (<topic name>#.htm) This works fine in the online version, but I just noticed that this is not rendered correctly in the PDF version. The only thing you see is
,page number.

But we are still talking manual post processing and yet another thing you need to keep in mind to ask the translator to do. I would expect to see the text in the grid for the css so the translator can make the change from within Lingo. Obviously not an option at this point in time. Weird since you ...

There can be many problems (sorry: challengens) in getting table settings right. The problem could also be the printer.
But I would start by checking the html code in the internal editor and see if there are any inline styles that override the .css.

Re: CSH to bookmark in drop downs
Ahhh - I must have looked at the issue with fresher eyes today. Initially I added the bookmark within the <MadCap:dropDownHotspot> tag and that wouldn't allow the dropdown to expand. But adding the bookmark within the <MadCap:dropDownBody> tag was all it took. Now the drop-down expands when I press ...
