Re: Unused glossary terms
I have asked several times (through enhancement requests) for them to add CONDITION tags to glossary items. This would solve your problem, I believe. I was disappointed to see my request was not added in Flare 11. Please submit an enhancement for adding condition tags to Glossary items, if you feel ...

Re: Mini-Toc "style content" - make it visible
Just a quick answer that may help you. Try making the mc-toc-depth: equal to 2, instead of 1. I had to do that.

Re: Output Format for Webhelp
I agree with all of Nita's comments. I would say the developers programmed around those folders and do not want to have to change their code. I also give rave reviews to Flare and you should definitely give it a look.

Re: Compiler (Internal Error) and tip
I'm using Flare 4.0 and still get the problem, so upgrading probably won't fix this. However, you should definitely upgrade because there's a ton of wonderful new features.

Re: Compiler (Internal Error) and tip
I just made a discovery on this error (work around at least) and thought I'd share it. First, the error happened this afternoon again out of the blue on one of my HTML Help targets - not the same one as before, but same project. I tried, as advised, to delete the designated output folder for the ...

Re: Compiler (Internal Error) and tip
My problem had magically disappeared when I came in to work the next day. I never did make any changes. I turned it in as a bug (on the day of the problem) and support suggested that I delete the output folder. I will if it rears its ugly head again. He also suggested that something like Virusscan ...

Re: Compiler (Internal Error) and tip
As of today, I had my first instance of this occurring (ever) on a project I've been working with in Flare 4 beta and current release (months). I did not have a failed build that I recall. Just started happening and I had to restart to get it to clear so I could re-build. I'm NOT on Vista (XP Pro ...

Re: X-Edit setup could be improved for reviewers
It is editable, you just can't save it. For now, I'm keep a Notepad text file with my preferred text and copy and paste it to the topics I send out for review. I also change it for specific situations or reviewers.
Or, am I misunderstanding your request?

Var,
Do you mind inserting the URL for that link here? There are several pages involved in the X-Edit section of the site and if you could pinpoint it for us, that would be great.
Thanks!

Re: X-Edit setup could be improved for reviewers
Hey Sharon,
I got an email from MadCap today announcing the products again, but the X-Edit Review download is still combined with the X-Edit "family" (or appears to be initially) and requires an email to MadCap to receive.
When will we be able to get a simple, single download for X-Edit Review ...

Just a tip. Be sure to use the Printed Output Guide provided by MadCap on the Flare Help menu under Guides. It's beyond thorough and I've used it repeatedly with success.

"Table Best Practices"
I *swear* I saw a reference somewhere -- either in the forums, the MadCap site, or in Flare itself -- to a document on best practices for using Flare tables. Am I hallucinating or just thinking wishfully? If it does exist, can someone point me to it? Thanks!

Re: X-Edit setup could be improved for reviewers
Ditto for us as well. Our reviewers are very excited to begin using this tool, but as we figure out the steps they'll have to take to get started, we're disappointed with all the effort each one will have to go through. I'm afraid this initial rigmarole will have them balking at using it all and we ...

Looking for statistics by target
One of my projects contains a combined set of topics that are used by 4 different TOCs to produce a set of 4 books. Each book has its own various target formats. I'm trying to find a way to get a topic count by target (book). I can't seem to find this anywhere. Does anyone know if that is available ...

Re: Numbers and bullet styles not showing on FM import
I'm now working out the process of importing FM files to Flare and I, too, can't find a way to convert FM bullet and list styles to the Flare CSS styles I created to handle them. (Background: I have a very clean, successful CSS that I've been using in Flare projects that were created from converted ...
