Thanks Ramon. That's useful.
I'll try BootCamp then.
Has anyone else got a foolproof way of installing Flare on a Mac? Actually not installing, using really. It installs fine.

Running Flare 7 on a Mac (vmware Fusion/Windows 7 x64)
I hoping someone here can help. I'm trying to run Flare 7 on my MacBook Pro and it is not working as it should. Am I doing something wrong? I have read other threads where people have said that it works for them, but I'm having loads of small issues. It kind of works but is very buggy and unreliable...

Re: Warning: "Link points outside project file"
You need global project linking. Create global project for shared content and import into working projects.

When to create another project
I thought I understood this, but maybe I don't. If you want to create a separate WebHelp output from within the same project, the second project containing some but not all of the topics, is conditions the only option? For some reason, I thought that you could create two TOCs and this would define w...

Re: Set up Topic page to be a popup window
I may be wrong, but I believe you are talking about Embedded Help (help embedded into the application itself), which Flare doesn't do. You simply have to work with your UI developers to achieve this. I hope this helps.

Custom Toolbar Item in WebHelp
Can someone point me in the right direction for adding a custom icon to the WebHelp toolbar. I've done it before, but can't for the life of me remember what I did. Something in the Skin Editor I expect. I'll keep looking ... Thanks.

Installing and running Flare on a Mac
I'm considering running Flare on a Mac (Bootcamp and Windows 7). Does anyone have any advice? What partition size would you recommend? Does it run OK? Thanks.

Re: Relationship Tables
I've just partially answered my own question. I've just worked out that you can use drag-and-drop to populate the cells from the Content Explorer. This retains the vertical location and is a lot quicker. Workaround rather than fix though.

Relationship Tables
I've just started to switch over to using Relationship Tables to manage my Related Topics links in WebHelp. So far I'm impressed. Not sure I'm using all the Source/Target/Family bit exactly right, but I'm getting there. One thing though, which I think must be a bug, the .flrtb editor switches 'back ...

Hosting Flare WebHelp on Amazon S3
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of hosting their WebHelp on Amazon S3? I'm just beginning to look into hosting Help on Cloud Servers. Any advice, recommendations or alternatives would be a great help. Thanks.

Re: Page breaks and single sourcing
Ah. (sound of penny dropping) Thanks Lisa. I undertand now. So, if I copy my print medium to a third medium, tweak that one, and apply the new medium to my PDF target all will be well? Printing online will use @medium print; PDF will use new third medium? Is that right? Thank you very much for your ...

Page breaks and single sourcing
I'm having some difficulty with H1 page breaks when single sourcing. The problem is that for my PDF print output I want H1 headings to start on a new page. I've managed this by using the page-break-before = always property in the @media print section of my help.css. But when I do this, when a user p...

Flare with VSS
Does anyone know which versions of VSS Flare 4.1 gets along with? We've been trying to implement Flare's binding to VSS but the db keeps corrupting. Do you need the VSS client to be installed locally? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: I've had to revert to Flare 3.1
Does anyone know any reason my context-sensitive links no longer work when I build WebHelp with V4.0, but when I revert to V3.1 they work again? A few days ago I upgraded to V4.0 and rebuilt my help system, tested the output locally and even tested the CSH API Links from the Build menu. Passed with...

Re: I've had to revert to Flare 3.1
I believe it is related to 4.0. Our CSH links have worked for the best part of a year. Then I upgraded to V4.0 and they stopped working. I've now reverted to V3.1 and the all work again. Nothing has changed in the application code during any of this. When we get time we will have to investigate this...

Unfortunately I don't have a maintenance contract, so I can't raise a support ticket.

Strange behaviour in Flare 4.0
Just tried to change the properties (Label and FontSize) of the SearchFiltersLabel style in my WebHelp skin. This worked fine, but the Search box immediately above it shrank to a tiny box. Am I doing anything wrong? Removed the said properties and the search box went back to normal. Strange! Any hel...

Can I evaluate Flare 4 on the same machine as V3.1? Do they co-exist happily? Can you switch between them OK? Thanks for your help.
