Well, here is what I discovered: The problem is related to the creation of a synonym file.
I have five seperate Flare projects. Two days ago, I created a synonym file in one of the projects. (The other projects do not have synonym files.)
It was then upon doing a build of the project with the ...

Re: Webhelp Project Loads Blank Frames
I'm looking forward to a solution, also. In just this past day, I have encountered this problem for the first time. Now it happens repeatedly.
It happens only with IE 8, but I haven't tried it with IE 7 or IE compatibility mode.
Firefox 3.0 has no problem displaying WebHelp (knock on wood).

Perhaps there's something goofy in my Windows setup?
The F4 key does not work as intended from either the TOC or the Content Explorer (after having selecting a topic).

Conditionalize the Skin Caption Field
How do I conditionalize the Caption (Project > Skins > Basic tab > Caption field)?
For this one project, I have used conditional text to generate two somewhat similar WebHelp projects from one Help source.
The only difference for the skin is the Caption field.

WebHelp Dying in Windows 7
Other than creating the online Help (WebHelp) I don't have a direct hand in experiencing this situation, but one of our developers has reported the none of the WebHelp works when our product is installed in Windows 7. That is, the product runs OK, but not WebHelp. The developer reports that "nothing ...

Flare 4: Find and Replace Get Stuck in Loop
It has been frustrating trying to get Find and Replace to work in Flare 4.
On the Find and Replace panel, I set the following:
"Find in" to (whole project).
"File types" to Topics
Cleared all the check boxes.
Entered a known, good search word in the "Find what" field.
I then clicked Start ...

Thank you.
Perhaps we can chalk this issue as a feature request: Offer an option to always open WebHelp in a new browser window so that already-open browser windows are not disturbed (resized or repositioned).

Re: Open a New Browser Window
In the skin on the size tab, enable the "Use Browser Default Size". This will open the help in the browser at whatever size the browser window is currently set at or the size it was at when it was last closed.
Thank you, but that's not quite what I am asking.

Open a New Browser Window
By default, the WebHelp that Flare Madcap builds displays the Help in a tabbed Web browser window. If the user already has their Web browser window open and is displaying other stuff, some users find it annoying that their already open tabs are resized.

I'm using Flare 3.1.
Where can I find the Flare documentation in PDF that goes beyond the Flare Getting Started Guide?
I'm trying to find the resources on Skin design. I have read Chapter 6 "Making It Look Good" in the Flare Getting Started Guide, but I need more.
Thank you.

Re: Associated TOC Does Not Appear in Build
I stand corrected.
I just viewed the available styles in the assigned css file. It shows p.TOC1, p.TOC2, and so on.
I also verified that the stylesheet is associated with the proxy TOC file. (It is.)
We also have a style called tocProxy, listOfProxy, and a few others.
