Re: Default Project when using Vanity URL
This is still an issue. Interestingly, whilst until recently if you went to https://help.madcapsoftware.com/ you got an error, but this now redirects to https://help.madcapsoftware.com/flare2020r2/Content/Flare/Introduction/Home.htm. Why this can't be an option for us, I dunno! Flare's help is not ...

Re: Push updated files to Central fails on one project
If you are getting this error on a sizable project, please contact support using this form: https://www.madcapsoftware.com/feedback/bugs.aspx?p=Central&v=Beta We appear to have a fix and need the URL to the project that is experiencing these issues. To get that URL - Log into Central via the bro...

Re: Changes assigned to "unknown user"
Is this still happening? Try logging out of Central in the Browser and in Flare. Please make sure your using the release version of Flare and not the Beta - Check the Help > About - It should read 13.0.6142 Then log in both. Make a few changes in a topic, push them to the server and check again if t...

This link is handled by the skin. Open the skin to the Styles tab Under the Search Results group, locate Search Results Path. Set the layout to Display: none This will remove the path links. Additional information on skins and styles can be found here for Flare 11 http://help.madcapsoftware.com/flar...

Re: Changing div.topichero Image with a variable
Images in Variables are not supported as you already know. We had another customer with a similar situation and found that using a snippet with conditions worked for them. Create a snippet that contains all of the logos. Condition each of the logos with a different condition. In the targets, exclude...

Re: Hiding Search bar in Top Nav
Hello John,
In Flare 12 this is possible in the Skin.
Open your skin to the Styles tab.
In the Header Group there is a style called Search Bar.
Under Layout, set Display to 'none'.

Re: Stop Flare from inserting spaces inside <pre> tag
It is difficult to replicate this without some kind of example.
Could you please log this as a bug using our Report A Bug link? This way we can replicate it and get it to the Development teams.
Here is a link to the bug submission form:

Thank you

Re: Annoying differences between Flare v11 and v12
System Dates previously were based off the System Locale. Now they are based off the Project/Target language. This might explain the difference. Thanks Rob but why isn't this noted in the release notes? http://kb.madcapsoftware.com/Content/Flare/General/GEN1052F_-_Flare_12_Release_Notes.htm This ch...

Re: Can you search for a topic if you only know its filename
Use the Quick Launch bar for this and/or any file that might be in a project. In Flare - Look in the upper right corner for it, It's located on the same bar as the Menu. If you don't see it, press CTRL+Q to open it. Type in the file name or any part of the file name, it will be listed as a result be...

Providing Information for those who do not use LinkedIn From Justin: The best way to do this would be to create a master page that makes the top-nav bar no longer display, then associate the master page with the topics via HTML class. 1) Create a new Master Page 2) To make the Top-Nav bar disappear,...

This is not an issue with Word 2016
Formatting such as background colors, borders, and columns from Masterpages and Page Layouts have never worked in any Word outputs.

Re: Build Terminated
It does sound like something is wrong with the .NET install but have you tried removing the catapultMDIEditor folder yet? Generally if you cannot start Flare at all, the cause could be in the window layouts. Removing this folder can fix this issue if the problem is in the window layouts. Navigate to...

Re: Google Chrome bug?
Hmmm, however, it turns out that applying @robhollinger's suggested fix to our main project stylesheet is screwing up the internal stylesheet used by the XML editor. Fonts are all wrong, as if each topic does not "see" the stylesheet reference to the project stylesheet in the HEAD element...

Re: Google Chrome bug?
When is the patch coming out? I tried method 2 (apply directly to hosted css without a build) but it didn't work. I will try method 1 now and see if a build resolves it. But knowing when the patch will come will help me allocate my time. I don't want to spend hours trying to fix something that will...

Re: Google Chrome bug?
It's those Pseudo classes that are not handled by the browser correctly.
Other examples would be:
MadCap|popup:hover
MadCap|xref:hover
If you were to set the xref hover class, that would take over as soon as you corrected the dropdownhotspot styles.

As a temporary fix and for those who would rather fix already published content use step 1 or 2 below. MadCap will be issuing a patch/update for this over the next few days that will update Flare 11 and resolve this issue. The problem is the "MadCap" named styles in the stylesheet. Chrome ...

Kai,
Use Lingo and send the translators the XLIF files to be translated.
This should remove these issues and make sure your not paying to translate more words than you should.
Not trying to all Sales on you, but Lingo breaks these all up into segments to avoid these situations.
