Re: Page break in PDF before heading
Hi Lisa, I followed your advice and it lead me to an interesting discovery. This is not a problem with my stylesheet at all, it's something wrong in the topic itself, or at least with one line in the topic. A page break is being inserted where one does not belong - I don't even see it in the code! I...

Re: Page break in PDF before heading
I haven't set the widow and orphan values. What should those be in order to avoid page breaks? I'd be surprised if they were affecting this though, since none of the headings go to a second line. They are all just a few words long at the most. The first style listed is the style in the stylesheet I'...

Page break in PDF before heading
Hi! Hopefully this one has an easy answer! I'm trying to learn how to use the single source feature in Flare to create both Webhelp and PDF outputs. In the topic I'm using to experiment, there are several autonumbered sections, and for some reason, a page break is being placed before the auto number...

Re: text not wrapping around floated image in WebHelp
To follow up... I contacted Flare's technical support to get help with this, and they were able to reproduce it. They've now logged it as a bug and it may be corrected in the next version. Not exactly the answer that I wanted, but at least it's an answer! Thanks for everyone's help trying to figure ...

Re: text not wrapping around floated image in WebHelp
Thanks Bob! That does greatly improve my understanding of things. I'm not sure it will solve the problem I'm having here though. Although it might... will have to experiment some more! The issue here exists *only* with auto-numbering with outside-head position. The float right works just fine with e...

Re: text not wrapping around floated image in WebHelp
sorry - actually there was an extra '>' in there, but it doesn't work after I've deleted that either, same problem. I can preview the page if I change the end tag to < /div.right>, I get no error, but the image is still not on the right with text wrapping on the left. And if I set the float to 'Righ...

Re: text not wrapping around floated image in WebHelp
That's great, if I can get this to work I'll be very relieved. Thanks, Dave! I haven't worked with <div> tags yet (am still fairly new to flare, css and xml). I *think* I've changed it to be structured like your example, but I'm getting an error when I try to preview - 'Failed to complie document: o...

Re: text not wrapping around floated image in WebHelp
So, am I reading this chain correctly - there is currently no way to wrap text around an image if it is mc-auto-number text with outside-head position? Most of the text in my help system is mc-auto-number text with outside-head position - and I'd like to place screenshots on the right side of the wi...

Re: how do i save a linked pdf?
thanks kevin!
yes that is what i thought i'd do, and i created a 'PDFs' folder in resources, however i'm not sure how to save the pdf into that folder. i don't see how to import it, i can't paste the file into the folder, and dragging does not work either. am i blind? thanks.

Merging cells in tables causing columns to overlap
I have recently been seeing a problem with tables I'm creating (from a table stylesheet). When columns are merged, it is for some reason causing the content of one column to jump over and sit on top of the content in its neighbor column. Then its own column appears empty. Content always seems to jum...

picture in list setting off alignment
Hi! I was wondering if anyone has encountered this problem before and knows how to fix it! I've inserted a small picture into a line of text in a auto-number list. It looks fine in the editor, but when I preview it or build it (HTMLHelp) the list number seems to jump up a little on the page and is n...

Re: Auto numbering 'outside head' alignment
Here are the relevant pieces. The first is the h6, and the second is the sub-class of h6 that I used for this list. Is it perhaps the list style position that is interfering? Thank you! h6 { font: Arial; font-size: 95%; font-style: normal; font-weight: inherit; list-style-position: outside; } h6.ull...

Auto numbering 'outside head' alignment
Hi! I'm a very new Flare user, and also new to CSS, so my question may have an obvious answer that I'm just not finding... hopefully this is the case! I've created some auto-number lists as classes coming under the h6 style. I've figured out how to make the lists number correctly (thanks to topics o...

web safe colors?
Hi! I'm creating my first html help project, using Flare. I have a general design question about colors. For HTML help, do I need to be concerned with using only web safe colors in my project, or is it fine to use colors that have not been identified as 'web safe'? My primary target is an HTML help ...

Re: Capture only grabbing a tiny part of screen
replying to my own post...
This had something to do with having 'Enable Crop Rectangle' checked off in my profile, in the 'Image Effects' tab.

Capture only grabbing a tiny part of screen
I've been using Capture for a couple of weeks now with no problems, but as of yesterday it stopped working properly. Now, no matter what kind of capture I try to do - full screen, UI element, application, etc., the application only grabs a small rectangle of my screen. Has anyone had this experience...
