Re: Flare 2020 MCDropDown image bug
Sorry, haven't been keeping up to date on the forums. In my case, I determined that letting Flare create glossary links for me as part of building a target was what triggered the issue with transparent.gif ending up in a new, wrong location in the 'built' Help. I created a CSS fix that worked in tes...

FWIW, I've logged this as a bug with MadCap, too.

Re: Missing Image
I've reported this issue, too, and am told that it has been submitted as a bug report. I'm waiting to hear if there's any suggested workaround or fix in the works.

Re: PDF - Images - missing bottom borders
In my case, the problem does appear to be related to something added to the image by SnagIt that survives into the SVG. Problem method: Use SnagIt to capture or edit some PNGs from PowerPoint slides; once the image content is trimmed and set appropriately, use Inkscape to convert to SVG and scale. E...

Re: PDF - Images - missing bottom borders
I'm having a similar problem with Flare 2017r3, Windows 10, all updates. But in my case, the bottom row of pixels in an image that doesn't have a border added in SnagIt appears to be lost in the PDF--until I zoom up to displaying the PDF at 200%. As these images did pass through SnagIt on their way ...

Re: Printing from Help only prints first page of topic
I am having, I believe, the same problem. It appears that the first page of a topic is being treated as an image, rather than as a web page. The print output shows only an arbitrary portion of the first 'page' of topic content AND includes both horizontal and vertical scroll bars in what is printed....

Re: Page Layouts not working with Word
I'm having a similar problem; footer and header content isn't working in my Word targets, though it's perfect in the PDF targets. But I'm also not getting my title page included in the Word output, though it is included in the PDF output. TOC entries are linked to the appropriate page layouts, with ...

Re: Dynamic stylesheet-switching after output
If you haven't already got this figured out, you might want to take a look at Thomas Tregner's blog post "Version Filters in HTML 5 Output" ( http://tregner.com/flare-blog/version-filters-in-html5-output/ ), on his Flare for Programmers blog. It provides details and a sample project that d...

Re: HTML5 output - disable file paths visible in search results
I did find a way to disable the URLs/file paths in search results for HTML 5 output, but it involves either changing one's output files after building HTML 5 Help (WebHelp 2) OR changing some of the core Flare files. This works in Versions 9 and 9.1. To change just the output files: Open the Styles....

Re: HTML5 output - disable file paths visible in search results
I've also been trying to remove the search results paths in an HTML 5 skin, but the Flare skin editor only allows one to change font settings, not the display properties for this feature. I tried adding a Display property (set to 'none') to the search result path in the XML skin file outside of Flar...

Re: Disabling Toolbar in Browser Settings for HTML5 Skin
Never mind; I see that these settings won't really matter until the Help is launched via a properly formatted link or from a JavaScript script.

Disabling Toolbar in Browser Settings for HTML5 Skin
I created a new HTML5 skin and target. Initially, I set the options on the skin's Setup tab, in the Browser Settings box, so that only Resizable was checked. I built the associated target and got the expected results--no browser toolbar, menu, location bar or status bar. Then, based on a coworker's ...

Re: Print glossary has terms, but no definitions
Kevin, Thanks for your reply; sorry for my delay in responding. The paths are correct; that was the first thing I checked. I submitted this as an issue to MadCap support, as I was seeing the glossary items showing up without any problems (in spite of the error messages) in my Help outputs, but not i...

Print glossary has terms, but no definitions
When I generate print output to Word, my PrintGlossary.htm topic (which includes a glossary proxy) includes only the glossary terms and not the text of the topics linked to those terms. Here's the background: I have several projects in which I have recently converted manually maintained glossaries (...

Repair utility?
Today, I started using Analyzer 2.0 for the first time since I installed it. For several minutes, it appeared to be working correctly; I was happily fixing broken links in my project. Then, it stopped responding to my attempts to open files in the Broken Links list, and in the Messages pane, the fol...

Replicate custom RH See Also controls?
In one of my RH X3 projects, I included several DesignerControl objects in individual topics; the controls appeared as buttons linking to specific See Also keywords, providing easy links to key related information, as shown in the attached picture: spsomex.png When I imported this project to Flare 3...
