Does anyone know how to make cross references include a page number in print output, but not in HTML? I'm using the style Madcap:xref. It's formatted as {paratext} {pageref}.
You need to specify different formats for the cross-reference in your stylesheet for each medium. Here's some (very ...

however, the toolbar is NOT the place for them, I could do that in Flare but as I keep saying they should go in the somewhat blank space ABOVE the toolbar, as it's not part of the html doc (which is what the toolbar is for, to navigate that doc).

Re: Customize header
Trouble is, Flare is a documentation system/tool, and we're wanting to make it a support tool - so links to support, issue-tracking, and training need to appear outside the document/page, eg above this toolbar.

Re: Hanging indents, how?
I am trying to create a style that uses a hanging indent, for example a note or tip where the word "Note" is in line with the left margin and all the rest of the text is indented by, say, 20mm. There are a few of these paragraphs, Tip and Caution leap to mind. Another suggestion would be to use an ...

Re: Positioning problems with position:absolute;
I'd try to float the "1" character: Add a float:left; to the styles of the first element in row (in your example the span). The following element (in your example the div) should then start at exactly the same position as the span.

Re: Mystery in topic files
Interesting. I'm pretty sure Dreamweaver uses Shift+Space, too, which is why I just naturally tried that when I started using Flare. SharePoint Designer is the same way, I think. I wonder if it's a web app convention versus a print app convention.

Re: Word output - bulleted lists ignore bullet images. PDF is OK
In the Word output, the standard Word bullets are displayed instead (defined in the "list-style-type" property). If I set "list-style-type" to none, Word displays a numbered list instead. If I set "list-style-type" to none, I get the standard Word bullet (black circle).

No, the non-breaking space is appearing in topics that have only been edited in Flare.

I've tried messing with the "search result path" setting in the skin, but it seems to refuse to accept no settings. I tried deleting the code in the skin and that just broke everything. The best I can do is set the font at white, and then it's less visible, but still there. Is there somewhere else ...

All I need is the function name so that I can call that same function from an icon that I have added to the topic toolbar.

As Lisa mentioned, it's almost certainly due to a link style. (The last part of the breadcrumb is in a different typeface from the rest, and both it and the separators don't have an overlay.)
