how to change path of project on start page
I renamed the folder where my Flare project is located, but now on the Flare Start Page, the path is wrong and I can't open the project. I can't figure out how to change the path to point to the correct location. Could someone please tell me how to do this? It's very important that I figure this out...

Re: adding <dl><dt> and <dd> tags in XML Editor
As a workaround, I would create a basic <dl> list in the Internal Text Editor, and then make a snippet out of it. Then you can insert the snippet, right click it, and choose Convert to Text. That gives you an editable definition list. Bobmoon, Thanks very much for the work-around tip. I will try th...

adding <dl><dt> and <dd> tags in XML Editor
I can't figure out how to convert paragraphs to definition terms and definitions in the Flare XML Editor. I always have to go into the Internal Text Editor to add the <dl>, dt>, and <dd> tags. I mean, if I have two consecutive paragraphs, the first being the term and the second being the definition,...

Re: How to indent a table??
Never mind. I just went into the text editor and entered the blockquote tags, and that works.I cannot figure out how to left-indent a table. I thought I could just blockquote it, but when I select the table, I can't get to the blockquote tool on the toolbar.

How to indent a table??
I cannot figure out how to left-indent a table. I thought I could just blockquote it, but when I select the table, I can't get to the blockquote tool on the toolbar. I'm sure there must be a simple way, but I'm stumped.
Thanks for any help.

Re: non-breaking hyphen getting lost?
While I am an experienced Frame user I have not used pass-through markers. Does this technique require replacing all non-breaking hyphens with the marker? What I was trying to do was to get non-breaking hyphens to go from Flare to Frame output. There is no way to do it. Pass-through markers did not...

Re: non-breaking space is breaking
Hi Lisa,When you say it's not working, does it not work in the generated output? Or is it just the XML Editor and/or Preview window where it doesn't work?
It's not working in the XML Editor, the Previewer, or the generated PDF output.

Re: non-breaking space is breaking
I'm pretty sure that's out-of-date: http://www.w3schools.com/CSS/pr_text_white-space.asp Andrew, Thank you for the link to w3schools .com. I will use this site from now on as my reference, instead of my outdated book. My output from Flare is direct to PDF. I am still unable to get white-space: nowr...

Re: non-breaking hyphen getting lost?
Hi Greg,Suggest sending a bug report through to MadCap. Until it is fixed, you could use a PassThrough marker with the text

I know you posted this months ago, but could you please explain to me what a PassThrough marker is?
Thanks,

Re: non-breaking space is breaking
Lisa, Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not working for me. Following is what I'm using for my span class. span.NonBreaking { white-space: nowrap; } I apply this span to the words I want to hold together with the non-breaking space but the words are still separating with the space ending up at the...

non-breaking space is breaking
I'm getting situations where the non-breaking space is breaking at the end of a line. I'm trying to use it to hold two words together. The two words break apart at the end of the line and the "non-breaking space" drops down to the beginning of the next line. Has anyone else experienced thi...

Re: PDF target printing half the TOC as single lines
Graham,
I'm pleased to find out that my solution worked for you.
Thanks for letting me know. (It made my day.)
I've had a lot of help and support on this forum myself.
Which is why I keep coming back to it over and over.

space above top-aligned image
I'm getting a 1/4" gap of space above a top-aligned image that I can't get rid of (shown in the attached screenshot: the image is the explanatory note with the arrow. ) gap_above_image.png I realize that there is a gap below the line, too, but I was expecting that since the image is top-aligned...

Re: float-left in image tags not working
I have the float-left attribute in the image tag working now, after playing around with it for awhile. I'm still not sure what it was that I had wrong. I tried to reproduce the problem so I would know, but couldn't. So this appears to be operator error on my part. Thank you to those of you wh...

Re: float-left in image tags not working
If you're setting the float on the img tag, is it not just that it's being applied inside its container tag? What I would suggest is to apply the float property to the tag that contains the image - i.e. the paragraph (p) or div. Thanks, Dave. I thought through what you suggested, and read up on the...

float-left in image tags not working
I just discovered that float-left doesn't work in an image tag for my WebHelp target. Instead of text wrapping to the right of the image, the image behaves as if it is inserted at the front of the first line of the text and the rest of the text that is supposed to wrap falls below the image. float-r...

Re: PDF target printing half the TOC as single lines
I was getting the same problem of single lines per page in my PDF TOC. In my case, I had a TOC1 set to page-break-after:avoid . I removed that setting, which fixed the single-line problem. One thing to be aware of is that the TOC levels are affected by the setting Use TOC depth for heading levels in...

Lisa, Thanks for your response. I finally figured out that I was modifying the wrong style sheet. Re: page break?
I have a class of p.Notes -- page-break-before set to always for my printOnly medium, which I use instead of the print medium for my PDF target. Re: Mediums vs. separate stylesheets for single sourcing
When I print out Flare's help topics, I get an empty page with only the breadcrumbs line at the top for the first printed page.
