Re: Section Break before TOC Entries

The next topic after the TOC is my first chapter. So it has a section break associated with it already.

I did try adding an empty topic after the TOC and starting the section break associated with the TOC master page there. But then I ended up with 2 section breaks before the TOC entries, and the ...

Section Break before TOC Entries

I’ve run into a weird problem. In my Word output, a section break appears right below the TOC title and before the TOC entries. As a result, the subsequent pages of the TOC do not have the TOC footers, but instead, are picking up the footers from my first chapter.

I’m using 4 different master ...

Re: CSS Mediums not working correctly

Thanks so much for your input/suggestions Paul and Lisa.

The source .docs for the import included all the print styles. So I was hoping that I could make the print styles in the CSS the default medium, and then create a non-print medium that reflects the help styles. For whatever reason, (maybe ...

CSS Mediums not working correctly

I’m attempting to use one style sheet with two different mediums, one for the Web help and the other for our printed doc. This is the procedure that I’ve followed so far:

- I imported the source from Word. I did not link it to a style sheet and I wanted to preserve Word styles.
- I used the ...

Re: Style names after a Word Import

If the first, you are best to set up styles in Word, then import with preserve Word styles and don't attach a separate style sheet, just let it create it.

That's a big limitation of Flare, and I wish I would have known this before purchase. I completely agree with you that being able to map list ...

Style names after a Word Import

We purchased Flare so that we could automatically build our PDFs and CHMs using a command line. So, I need to set up the .flpj so that the target looks good without doing any tweaking to the project in Flare.

So, I spent about the last 4-5 days learning about .CSS and developing a good .CSS that ...

Re: Applying different master pages in print targets

Thanks so much for the tip on opening up the .fltoc in Notepad. After closely looking at it, I realized that the TOC proxy topic was merging with my first chapter because I had defined the threshold of empty topics at 50 characters. I bumped that down to 15, and now the master pages are behaving ...

Re: Applying different master pages in print targets

Yes, I marked the Start a new section checkbox on the Printed Output tab. I'm stumped, as the subsequent chapters pick up the correct master page. It's like the first chapter of the book won't accept but the PDF_TOC master page.

Applying different master pages in print targets

I've developed two master pages for my print targets, PDF_Chapter and PDF_TOC. I'd like to apply the PDF_Chapter master page to all the chapters in the target, and the PDF_TOC to the table of contents. I've followed the directions in designating the master pages in the Properties dialog of the ...

Re: Losing TOC nesting on Word Import

Thanks. I've submitted a request.

It does turn out if there is a TOC in the document, Flare will use that to set up the TOC. So our work around was to add TOCs to all our DOCs imported by Flare. Although that took some work, it works quite nicely.

Losing TOC nesting on Word Import

Is there any way to get the TOC to auto generate based on heading levels? We are attempting to build a HTML Help project, and we are using Word as our source.

Each time we re-import our Word source files, we lose the TOC nesting. Is this something that needs to be rebuilt everytime?
