FYI: I finally found the problem in my files. Each of the two topics that was causing an error had an unnecessary link that was not showing in the normal Flare editor. Below I show the "before" and "after" versions of each of the two problem lines:

I'm running Flare 4.2, and when I generate a statistics report for my Help project, the word count shows as zero. (The other statistics seem OK.) This is for a project with 525 topics, and the word count for my Microsoft Word target is 72, 207. Any suggestions? (I don't know if this works properly ...

Checked for broken links - none. Deleted Flare 4.2, reinstalled 4.1.19 and problem was resolved. I'll submit a support ticket.

I'm getting this error too, just since I upgraded to 4.2. Tried deleting the Output folder - didn't make any difference.

I am having the same problem with spanned text, locally bolded text, and some hyperlinks. Problem appears in online layout (not using print layout yet). I'm using Internet Explorer 6.0 (company requirement). I'm going to have to reinstall 4.0

Thanks for your helpful replies. I think I am going to copy the ForeHelp text into Notepad and then use it to build clean topics in Flare. That may be more work than using ForeHelp to build a CHM file and then importing the HHP, but it will at least assure that my new Flare project will not be ...
