Re: Make Hamburger Menu Persist in Web Display
Alternatively, you might just be able to make the menu persist by setting your tablet breakpoint and then just write your own media queries for the content you want responsive. If you already have the tablet/mobile breakpoints in your css, I'm wondering if you could just change the query from ...

Make Hamburger Menu Persist in Web Display
Hi all!
Long time no post. Alright, so here it is. Top Navigation Target - I'd like the hamburger menu to always be available. I know that you can do that by increasing the tablet breakpoint in the target, but that changes my responsive layout. I need my responsive layout to recognize when it's a ...

Adding a Flare Search Bar to the Software
Hey guys,
Has anybody implemented a search bar in the actual software product being documented that opens your help and lands the user on the search results?
There's in-documentation search capabilities, but what about searching an online Flare manual from a different start point? Any developers ...

Extremely long Flare URLs
Hi there,
Not sure what the source is, but my flare output has incredibly long URLs for each page, way past what's relevant. For example, if I have a topic called This Is My Topic with a filename of file.htm, I get this:
http://www.name.com/public/path/#topic/file.htm%3FTocPath%3Dtopic%7Cthis ...

Re: Unable to view HTML Help on local
I don't seem to have an unblock checkbox. Nothing else has worked. I even made a new project and moved over the content and I'm getting the same thing. It's project-specific. It's apparently not my system, it's something in the project and the contents apparently. A new sample project generates a ...

I can build it on another machine with Flare on it and I get the same problem. Is there anything else I can try?

Re: Unable to view HTML Help on local
Hi there. I am having this issue and I am wracking my brain. I build my output and I get this error when saving it to my desktop on my local machine, so I know the network is not the problem. It's an enormous file, and so it takes over half an hour to build every time. I wish I knew what changed ...

Sorry, to be clear, I am adding the _CSH.htm before the #. So the urls look like this

https://www.mycompany.com/help/Training ... .htm#Core9

CSH call not recognizing identifier (but does recognize valu
Hi all,
So I'm trying to call topics in my web help based on identifier (as outlined in my alias file), but it doesn't work. I use the same path and switch out the identifier with the value, and it does work. Any ideas?

Multiple Browse Sequences
Hi there,

Re: Triggering a search through URL parameters
Ah that worked! That helped me understand that I was on the right path.
What was also hitching me up was that I was behind security and I needed to change my "http" to an "https" for it to work correctly.
Thank you!

Re: Triggering a search through URL parameters
I'm having problems linking to the file directly while maintaining the TOC in the left pane. I want to link to the file directly, but not have to go through the search string to get there. (examples below using dummy names "mywebsite, MyManual, MyTopic" and "..." to signify "http://www.")

Re: Problems running SWF in final build
Well, I just re-rendered all the files in FLV to skirt around this issue. I'm not sure exactly what caused it but my inclination is that something was hard-coded in in the controller itself that kept it from seeing the files in their relative positions after publishing. I'm not having this issue ...

Re: Problems running SWF in final build
Ok, so here's an interesting addition. It's ok on the input side, ok on the output side (as long as it's on our network), but when we move the files to an ftp outside of our network so that our users can access it, it breaks the videos and they don't display anymore (just the html page and the ...

Re: Problems running SWF in final build
Has anybody found the solution to Camtasia files in Flare output? I have mp4's, loaded in a swf controller, housed in an HTML page that is linked from my project pages. The html and controller open up, but it's like it can't find the mp4 (it's fine on the front end, before the build). And the file ...

Is there a way to keep the Help from always remaining as the top window? I think it will be annoying to the users that they have to minimize the help to get to their other windows. Any clues?

Moving CHM file - Breaks Help
I'm new at this help output. Since all the files are compiled into one file, why is it that moving this file causes my help to break? Everything is fine until I move it to a shared server, and then I get a "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" on each topic. What am I missing here? Do I need all ...

Re: Bitmap region is locked
I am so tired of this bug. It takes me 10 minutes to build a pdf as well, and it doesn't matter if I clean my project, or if I shut down Flare and restart, it punks out on me right before it's finished. If anyone has further suggestions, I would so love to hear them.

images and text boxes falling off the page in PDF output
Ok, here's my issue. My images and note boxes are "falling off" the page in my pdf output. How do I set my configuration to break to a new page instead of having an image or text box that is too big extend off my page into nothingness? Any help would be appreciated! Image of issue attached. Thanks!

Can't single-source topics in the same TOC
Ok, here's my issue. I have a topic that appears at the beginning of each chapter of my manual. So why can't I single-source that section and reuse it in the same table of contents without getting an error when I try to build the pdf?

Thanks Steve. That sounds like a lot of work considering how large my project is and how much work I've done, but I'm willing to give it a try if it will fix my myriad of issues.
Thanks for the post!
