Re: PDF file links to open in Adobe Reader, not in browser

Hi Wyatt.
I've been investigating this further and am inclined to agree with you. Thanks for the reply. At least I know I've tried, and that I've not missed anything obvious :( .

PDF file links to open in Adobe Reader, not in browser

Hi everyone I'm trying to find a way to force PDFs links to open in Adobe Reader. There are a limited number of users, who are all internal to our company. They have Adobe Reader by default, so there are no issues with the Adobe Reader not being available. Setting the file extension to use Adobe Rea...

Adding a cross-ref without the link

Hi everyone I'm creating a set of PDFs. In some cases I need to inform the user that they need to read a topic in one of the other PDFs, but I don't want to give them a link as I've no control over the PDFs they download or where they put them. I need it to look like a cross-ref but without the link...

Excel CSS ignored after importing

Hi
I hope everyone is safe and well.
I've imported an Excel spreadsheet into a snippet. The content is fine, but the CSS file generated when the Excel file was imported is being ignored. How can I get the snippet to use the correct CSS file?
Thanks

Change status flag on HTML output after publishing "Archive"

Hi everyone We have HTML projects which are version controlled. The HTML output combines a few levels, each with it's own version controlled part number. We need to keep a copy of archived versions for auditing purposes, and have been asked by our QA team to mark the changed level as "Archived&...

Hi
Just wanted to clarify. Are you looking to package the files for the entire project, or individual targets?
Thanks

3D graphics format from Solidworks

Hi everyone We are looking to include graphics exported from Solidworks in online and PDF outputs. In recent years, Solidworks has stopped supporting the export of U3D files, which seems to be the only 3D format supported in Flare. I haven't been able to identify an alternative and am trying to figu...

Adding a symbols as glossary terms

Hello
I was wondering if there's a way to add symbols to the glossary, or a create a separate glossary or index of symbols? From what I can see, glossary and index terms have to be alphanumeric.
Has anyone found a way to produce something like this?
Thanks

Re: X-ref format to heading number

Hi there Thanks for that. Still having trouble. I'm using "{i}{paratext}{/i} in section {paranum}" and "paranum" is being ignored. My other x-ref is "{i}{paratext}{/i} {pageref}" and this works fine. I'm using h1, h2, h3 heading styles which I assume are compatible with...

X-ref format to heading number

Hi everyone I've been trying to create a x-ref that produces "[topic title] in [section number]", for example " Configuring the widget in 2.1") I've created several x-ref styles and all work fine, but I can't find the command for section number. I even tried "paranum" b...

PDF and speech synthesizer

Hi folks We have a user who is using a speech synthesizer to review our PDF files. When the speech synthesizer reads out the text it misses some titles, doesn't read as paragraphs, spells out words instead of reading them and even sees apostrophes as splitting a word in two. It looks like some acces...

Re: How do I stop the flicker between frames?

Hi folks. I'm experiencing the same problem in mimic 6. The user interface shown here has changed, and I can't try out this suggestions. My video shows alignment instructions. There is a graphic that changes position very slightly between frames, but the text below it stays the same. The text flicke...

Project Import Editor - when files do not have a condition

Hi there We have a 'Parent' project which holds all our common files. Some of these have a condition tag assigned that mark them as mandatory. I want to set up my Project Import criteria to only import the mandatory ones. However, when I select the include and exclude conditions, Flare includes all ...

Re: SVN-Can't access files after other author worked on project

This seems to have been a network issue - slow network.
It still seems strange that the project opened quickly, but the files were stuck.
We'll monitor this and see if it happens again.
Thanks for the reply!

CSH in Qt GUI

Hi there Our developers are using Qt Creator (2.1.0), based on Qt 4.7.1, to develop our GUI interface. Since Flare doesn't generate Qt help, I not sure how to do the context senstive help. We only need F1 help at the form level, we don't need "What's this?" help for each control. I'm not s...
