Unfortunately I can't offer any suggestions on how to fix this, but (if it's any help) you're not alone. A few of us at my company are having the same issue.
Since we're in the same boat, I'll add my voice to your plea. Does anyone have an answer for us?

Naming elements in V6
When I was using version 5, all I had to do to name an element was right-click the tag on the left of the XML Editor and select Name . Now I have to select the element, then, on the Menu bar, select Format | Name .
I checked the help, and it looks like that's Flare's recommended workflow.

Re: Improve Search Results
I can only offer a work around for your second problem.
Currently, Flare doesn't support synonyms with spaces. It's a pretty big limitation, but I've managed to get the results I need (so far) by giving careful thought to the terms I use.
For example, if you want to use the term search refinements ...

Re: Unbinding hyperlinks en mass
LTinker is right. I guess I wasn't really clear at first. I'm trying to find a way to covert all hyperlinks into non-hyperlinked text when I create a printed output.
I was hoping to avoid applying condition tags to each link, but I'll take a look at the source code and see if I can do it on a topic ...

Unbinding hyperlinks en mass
I don't want the hyperlinks in my online help to transfer over to my printed output, but I need to keep the linked text. I've set up the stylesheet so that the links appear as normal text in the printed output, which solves part of the problem, but you can still click on the links in the PDF. I don ...

Excluding headings from the TOC
I'm trying to create a printed manual from my flare project, and I'm having some issues getting the TOC format the way I want it. We set up a sub class of H3 for our online help that we want to exclude from the TOC in our printed output. We still want H1, H2, and normal H3s to show up, but not H4s ...

Highlighting specific content for review
We’ve just started using X-Edit Review in our group, and I recently ran into a bit of an issue. I’m currently revising and adding content to an existing help file, so I often just want my reviewer to look at a small section of the topic. Other than changing the Flare topic by adding notes or ...
