Box style mangled for PDF?

(this could probably be posted to the style group instead, but since it works properly for HTML output, I'm left to figure it is more likely a PDF issue. Consider the following style definitions: .Box { width: 90%; padding: 10px; border: 2px solid #000; margin: 15px; background: #EEE; } .SmBox { wid...

URLs in PDF output - forcing browser loading?

Flare V4 How might I configure the style for <a> tags do that the generated PDF causes Acrobat to load the link in a browser rather than within Acrobat? This might generally be more of an issue for those with Acrobat Pro (which will happily try to append the web content to the current PDF), and migh...

Re: PDF boookmarking each H1?

The styles for the various headings are only one level down from the parent (i.e. h3.Additional and h3.References, etc.), so they'd only inherit from the base h3 class, which I wouldn't want to change. I was hoping to have a global class (as outlined in my previous response), which I could specify i...

Re: PDF boookmarking each H1?

Thanks for the quick reply Lisa. I checked the PDF target options, and all checkboxes in the "Generated TOC" section under the Printed Output tab are unchecked. I would have thought that to mean use the provided TOC as-is... The project has a primary TOC (manually generated). The PDF setti...

PDF boookmarking each H1?

I generated a PDF of my project (originally composed for HTML help). All the Headings show up as bookmarks in the PDF.

Is there some funkyness I need to know about with how PDFs generate? Are H1s automatically inserted into the PDF bookmarks? What can I do to change this behavior?

snippet in H1, not expanded/used in TOC heading

Flare 4. Novice user. Wherever the name of the product (and a variety of other things) are referenced in our documentation, they're specified as a snippet. This works fine on the individual topics, but where the TOC grabs the content of the first H1 to use as the title of the TOC entry, it does not ...

Suggestions for formatting of command parameters

Using Flare v4 As an example, one application command allows exactly ONE of in/out/over, though there are single character options i/o/u (hey, I didn't decide on the parm syntax!). Complicating matters somewhat is that the application allows either a slash or hyphen as a switch character (identifyin...

Flare v4 & SQL SERVER 2005

My development/editing system already has the full-blown version of MS SQL Server 2005 installed. The System Requirements for Flare V4 include: "Microsoft SQL Compact Edition (except on Windows 2000) (Installed on first use run of Flare)" Sure enough, when I launch Flare V4 after installin...
