Hi, Can you elaborate on the hh.dat solution? I've run out of ideas of how to make my HTML Help output take any notice of the window size settings defined in the skin.
Thanks.

Re: Trademark and other symbols display improperly in IE
Yes, sorry for having overlooked this before. It worked!rob hollinger wrote:Have you turned the Byte Order Mark (BOM) back on following the instructions above?
Once that is done, you need to relaunch Flare and rebuild the outputs.
Thanks.

Re: Trademark and other symbols display improperly in IE
Was there a solution to this?
We're seeing the same problem in some of our WebHelp projects.
The problem does not occur if we open the help by double-clicking the main file, but it does occur when a user clicks the help link to get help for the application.

Re: WebHelp ignoring frame name
Could the following line in the main help file be the culprit:
if ( window.name != "_MCWebHelpCSH" ) // window.name might already be set to "_MCWebHelpCSH" from a CSH call
{
window.name = "MCWebHelp";
}
Since I call the B file directly (without using a .ali or .h file), maybe this isn't triggered ...

WebHelp ignoring frame name
I have two separate WebHelp projects: one for a core product (let's call it A), and the other for an optional extra (B). I want users to be able to open both projects, each in a separate window. In the code that calls the help, I use target="MCWebHelp" in calls to the A help and target="DDWebHelp ...

Re: Preview Option
Hi,
Did you ever track down the cause of this problem? I'm getting exactly the same error. I have a copy of the project in another folder, where preview works fine. WinMerge shows no material difference between any of the files in the two versions.

Re: Shortcut for opening Variables Window?
On a related note, is there a shortcut to select the variable, once you have opened the appropriate window?
Why is it that the third variable in the list is always selected by default?

Flare's own help
I apologise if this has been answered before, but after several hours' trawling, I couldn't find the answer, and searching for "Flare help" doesn't work 8)
Was the help for Flare developed using Flare, and if so, what kind of output does it use? I would like to produce a similar solution, whereby ...

Re: Cross reference the same topic in > 1 place?
That works for me! I was thinking of a more complicated solution that involved creating the file as an import, but this is much simpler.
Thank you!

Cross reference the same topic in > 1 place?
(Forgive me if this has already been asked. I searched for cross-reference topics and there were so many that I gave up checking after half an hour.)

Thanks, Trent.
It would be great if you could send me the script, plus instructions, if you have time.

Is there any progress on this? I, too, have experienced the same problem (not) viewing WebHelp output in Firefox. Happy to submit a bug report if this improves the prospects of getting a fix.

Pete,
Many thanks. I'd heard they were in hh.dat, but I couldn't find it! Doh!

Where are Favorites stored
I hope you'll forgive me for asking a question that isn't related to the Flare tool in particular, but I've been trying, without success, to find out where the topics added to a user's Favorites tab are stored. They are certainly very persistent.
Many thanks,
Curly
