Re: How about a MadCap Exchange?

I think that would be a great idea. Unfortunately, my formatting and structure is all around proprietary information. I wish we could do Help Files on random stuff and use those for examples (as if we have time for that, lol). I know I'm doing a lot more in the code than I should be.

Re: Breadcrumbs pulling file name not TOC entry

The unfortunate thing is that when I try to rename the title in the property box it messes up the source control in VS. I try to check in and it goes crazy because the file is "missing". I was hoping that there was a setting somewhere to tell the breadcrumbs to look at the TOC not the file name.

Breadcrumbs pulling file name not TOC entry

I have had to change a few files and headings in my project so now the file name doesn't necessarily match the TOC entry. For some reason my breadcrumbs are pulling the file name and not the TOC entry. Does anyone know how to fix this? I use MS Visual Studio and it is a pain to change file names ...

Re: HeadingAnyLevel error with Word output

Thanks I figured it out! My PDF pagelayout had the anyheader file and I had copied the TOC to use for Word. I went through and had to find the topics with the wrong pagelayout, took awhile but I got it working. Thanks for the help :)!

Ok I must have done that without knowing it. Where is the AnyLevel variable at? I didn't know it existed until now. Thanks!

HeadingAnyLevel error with Word output

I need to have a Word output for editing purposes so that my co-worker can use the track changes feature. I am trying to create a simple word target but keep getting an error that says "HeadingAnyLevel is not a supported variable in Word outputs. Levels 1 through 6 should be used instead." I am not ...

Re: TFS, Flare and TFS server performance

I am having the same issue in Flare 4.2, here is the e-mail I got with a little bit of information:
Flare hits Team Foundation Server with hundreds of queries per minute, even though no one is using the Flare software—i.e., the software is open on the user’s desktop but the user is not checking ...

Two targets for print, one works and one doesn't

I have two targets for print, two TOC's, but one Master Page Layout. For some reason the second target isn't picking up on the page layout and none of the formatting is being applied. Has anyone seen this and can help? I took a look at the targets side by side and there are no differences in how ...

Re: Error with page layout and Word output

I fixed it by copying the TOC and changing all of the chapter breaks to my word page layout. From your posts I don't think it is the "right" way but it works. Thanks for the help. :)

I have selected the correct master page in the Advanced tab and selected Default in the Basic tab. I am still getting the same errors as before. Do I need to create a new TOC for this output?

I tried creating a master page but I am getting the same error. Is that because the TOC I use still references the page layout for my PDF?

Re: Error with page layout and Word output

I would definately prefer not to have to deal with a PDF and a Word output but you do what you have to ;). I got the page layout to work but it places one sentence or one image on every page, the project ended up being 1100 pages that way. Any ideas for why it is doing that?

Thanks for the help! I re-created all of the identifiers for one target and the identifiers for the other disappeared. I make sure I am adding them to the correct header file using the drop down. I can get one target alias and header file to work great but then the other target has files missing or ...

Re: one project, two web outputs, two alias files not working

Re: Index p.indexheading tag not working in PDF

I use the Advanced view, go to the p tag, find the indexheading and change the font on the right side. I changed both the font and font family and the actually index heading doesn't change. I don't think that the information from the stylesheet is being read.
