Re: Landscape body but Portrait header and footer
Thanks for the fast responses. I understand about having each topic that needs a different page layout start on a new chapter - I've done that. It works even though it's very annoying. It would be much simpler if you could simply add a new page type to the page layout set that would allow you to ...

Re: Landscape body but Portrait header and footer
Hi navoff,
You asked:
"If I set a page to landscape, then the headers and footers are landscape too. Is there some other way to get this to work? "
I got this to work by setting the page to landscape and then used Layout>Rotate to rotate the Header and Footer frames. The content of the Header and ...

How to localize Flare System variables
Hi folks,
I'm hoping that someone has an answer to this one.
Back story: We produce versions of our documents in French, German, Italian and Spanish. I would like to include one of the System date variables (LongDate or ShortDate) in the documents. If I use LongDate, the words have to be translated ...

Re: Flare freezes when updating links of moved topics (Perforce)
Actually, I don't think it's a bug. It's FAD for now since Perforce is not one of the source control systems that Flare currently supports (at least that's what we were told). For now we are managing our files manually as well. It's not that difficult, but you do have to make sure that you shut down ...

Hi R.
I just checked and you are right - I could delete the images in version 4.2, but not in 5.0 - but in 5.0 they don't appear to be included in the Output Data folder, so my problem seems to be solved behind the scenes. I'm mainly concerned with the size of my output files, not the number of ...

Re: Internal Text Editor corrupts UTF-16 TOC files
We are seeing what appears to be this problem in reverse. When new TOC files are created they are created as UTF8. When the file is opened, edited, and saved in the TOC Editor, it is saved as UTF16. It is the TOC Editor that is changing the encoding, not the Text Editor.

Hi Bonnie,
I'm using 5.0 but I think it was the same for 4.x. g
Go to the Target Editor >Advanced tab.
Under Master Page there should be a list box where you can select the Master Page that you want to use for your target.

I have looked for the enhancement in 5.0 and have not found it. I would love for someone to tell me that I'm wrong.
However, if I'm right, please add your voice to mine. The number of my enhancement request is "Case 9461"
Hope that helps.

C# Header file - can Flare create one for export?
Hi All,
I have been specifically asked by our engineers if there is any way for me to export a header file in C# format (.cs extension). This is not an option from the Export header File dialog in 4.2 or 5.0, but I was wondering if anyone had come up with a workaround?
Thanks,
