Hey all,
forgive my thread necromancy, but I am in the same boat and would like to see the final solution for this problem which would be easier to implement than the suggested one with conditions. I strongly believe that the solution to this should be as simple as checking a single checkbox in the ...

Re: Changing variable mid-project
Thank you for the explanation, now I see how can this be done with only a small overhead compared to current (not sufficient) situation we have.

Dear Dave,
thank you for the answer, however the proposed snippet way is probably doing the opposite from what I want to achieve (or I didn't understand the usage properly). The information is super-helpful anyway as we are using the snippets for repeating parts of the text throughout the topics and ...

Hey all,
I have one particularly difficult project I need some help with. We are using Flare 9.0 in our company to make manuals and help files at the same time, and have around 80 actively maintained Flare projects running, some of them small, some large. The problem I have is with just one of those ...

Re: Missing spaces between sentences
Well, we have finally found the reason of this behaviour. When the paragraph is divided into segments, the segments are created so that the "missing" space is added to the start of the second (and any further) sentence, and was not translated by us in that manner. Needles to say that this is not the ...

Re: Missing spaces between sentences
No such things as are present in our projects, there are checks running on our source code to prevent them happening. The space there is a "normal" space, like the ones I normally write between words/sentences, using the space bar key on the keyboard. We also sometimes use &160; non ...

Hi,
I have just reinstalled whole computer and at the same time installed Flare v. 6.1 instead of the v. 6.0 I had here previously. Display of long tables in the pdf output
Please, can anyone help me with the print of a table approximately 5 pages long?

Re: Page break before chapters with unlinked topics in PDF
No, I did not try, but the solution could only work the other way around. Mind you, I have no place where to define the h2.new_page style as the desired entries in the pdf do not have any real topic, they are just insertions from the unlinked books in TOC.
Theoretically, it could work the way that ...

Re: Content and index pages break after the heading
Thank you, Lisa,
the cause was, of course, the div tag property - I only have three div styles used and defined in the stylesheet, and all of them should behave in the same way (note, caution, tip), e.g. in the print output non-break inside. I have generally set the property o the div tag to "page ...

Content and index pages break after the heading
Another problem emerged in my projects - while outputting to pdf, the index and content chapters break weird. The problem is that the Heading for the sections is on one page, but the content (or index) start on the next page. I'm quite sure that word output didn't do that and I think that even the ...

Hello,
I have a problem for which I can't find a solution. Maybe someone here will know the answer...
So, I have a pdf output of a large manual, containing 7 major chapters. These are totally OK to start on new pages, so I set them so.
In one of these chapters there is some 6 sections, defined as ...

Re: HTML Help output name - how to change it?
Thank you for your help, I have tried to change this parameter before, but didn't notice that the file is imported in out project, so it was overwritten with the field blank each time i tried to build. Now, it looks OK.
Thank you again,
Daniel Mentlik

Hello,
yet another problem I have found, with which you will surely be able to help me.

Re: Internal Text Editor corrupts UTF-16 TOC files
The actual reason I usually have to write in both views at once is that in the Flare editor is more simple when working with links etc, but sometimes it creates "weird" tags or leaves the residues in the code, and this is not a desired behavior as we have to post-process the created ...

Internal Text Editor corrupts UTF-16 TOC files
We were forced to change all of our TOC files from UTF-8 to UTF-16 as Flare constantly entered UTF-16 into the header of the file instead of the correct UTF-8, even when it didn't change the format of the file itself. That came as an "improvement" with some update of Flare ("TOC files are now in UTF ...

Re: Variables in the external file name
Thanks for the answer, I feared that it would be so. Unfortunately, your solution would currently need 20+ conditional texts due to the number of OEM versions we would need, which (I fear) is not worth the effort. Thank you anyway.

Is there any way how to create the reference to the external *.chm file to be variable-dependent in the sense of the opened file? The code in the part of the text is as follows:

Maybe if everybody who is having the trouble (and those who aren't) post this type of info, we might see if it is particular to the software config on your machine.
