Hi all,
When starting up Flare today, I got a notification that build 6738 is now available for download.
About a week ago, build 6717 was released.
What gives? What's the difference? What happened that a new release was rushed out to us on the heels of the previous one? I ask because I don't ...

Re: TOC Proxy in Word Output adds unwanted page breaks
Well, I finally returned to this project. There was an additional topic other than the TOC that was page-breaking on each line.
I solved this issue by selecting the topics' TOC entries, entering their Properties>Printed Output> and selecting Start a New Section with the default Master Page assigned ...

Re: TOC Proxy in Word Output adds unwanted page breaks
Hi "Choccie",
Thanks for the suggestion. I'm just now leaving the office so I'll try your suggestion after the weekend.
Is it possible that the default "Print" medium is prone to corruption?
Thanks very much,
David

TOC Proxy in Word Output adds unwanted page breaks
Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I posted a question on the Forums, but I cannot find this specific issue. So, please help!
I'm working Flare 2017 r2.
I've been asked to provide a Word output for Review - always seem to be SMEs who can't handle commenting PDFs or Contributor.

Re: WebHelp not displaying in Chrome
I have a different twist to this situation. My published WEBHELP displays correctly from our application on IE9 and Firefox, but on the latest Chrome 30.xxxx, the content files are updated BUT the old intro page still appears, even though I purged it from the project. Also, the old TOC appears ...

Hi everyone,
Working on WinXP Pro 2002 Service Pack 3, 2 GB RAM, Flare 6.1 FrameMaker 7.2

Re: About button logo image looks awful
Kristen,
Your output probably contains a folder like: Output\MyWebHelp\Data\Skin [name of skin] .
That folder contains miscellaneous resource files that the Build process regenerates, including your About file bitmap. The file version currently in there is probably the 27KB one. Copy the 53 KB one ...

Re: About Box still making my life miserable
Surely, any bug is annoying, but in this particular issue I'm with Keith. The efforts put into getting a tricked out about box to show up right are usually never rewarded. If you don't even have one likely nobody will miss it. In any case, something not working right with the about box is IMHO ...

Madcap Tech support wrote me that what I encountered was indeed a bug in v4.2 and has been fixed in v5.

Re: About Box still making my life miserable
I found the culprit. It was the "custom" javascript that I enabled using the Skin Editor>WebHelp Toolbar>Custom Javascript to include in Toolbar Page feature.
There isn't a checkbox to deselect after you've used this setting. Instead, I chose Edit, deleted the whole script, exited.

About Box still making my life miserable
Well following my adventures trying to modify the WebHelp skin (chronicled in http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=9669 ), a new maddening problem has arisen (sigh, the name "Madcap" is too fitting for my taste).
I changed the logo file that appears in the toolbar, and in the ...

Re: About button logo image looks awful
I just submitted a bug report/enhancement request to provide friendlier control in the GUI for customizing the WebHelp skin, and for preventing the Madcap defaults from overwriting the modifications that I was forced to make outside the program.

Re: About button logo image looks awful
Lisa,
Changed the toolbar height to 45px. There's a small amount of improvement in the graphic but not 100%. I guess that's the best I can hope for now. I don't want to increase the toolbar anymore - I prefer to leave more room for the content :wink: .

Lisa,
Do you mean the following?

<body>
<table style="table-layout: fixed; height: 28px;">
<tr>
<td id="ToolbarButtons">
<!-- Toolbar buttons and logo are inserted here -->
</td>
</tr>
</table>
</body>
</html>.
Thanks,

Hi Lisa,
Occasionally, I check in the output to, and then immediately check it out from, Visual Source Safe. But I never encountered this snag until yesterday evening and today.
Thanks,
David

Re: AARGH! "...MyWebHelp\Data file used by another process"
So I had to restart my PC each time I tried to rebuild my project. I had to bring the Output/Data and Output/Content from my backup in order to do it again! What's up with that?

Re: About button logo image looks awful
Thank you, Lisa. Unfortunately, the solution is not there either. It doesn't matter from where the Build Output process takes the file, the final output always includes a smaller version of it in the "\...\Output\DavidS\MyWebHelp\Data\SkinAfconPulseHelp" folder (width/height are only 89+ percent of ...

Re: About button logo image looks awful
When I look at your screen shot, it seems that the toolbar version is smaller than the version that's displayed when you click on it. That makes me think that Flare is trying to squeeze your logo that is say 40 pixels tall into your toolbar, which is 35 pixels tall. If that's the case, then the GIF ...
