can I control the browser behavior on external links?
I have external links (to the web, to PDF files, etc.) in my CHM file.
Is there a way to set my CHM to open these links in a new browser? Ideally, in the user's default browser? Browsing the help in my custom window is fine, but I don't expect them to have to browse the web from there. : )

Re: Search Tab Not Working
(apologies if this is a duplicate post in this thread)
Wanted to add that the DLL will become unregistered (and break the Search tab) if you have multiple versions of Flare installed and remove an older version. I'm not sure which version caused the issue, but here is what I did to cause this ...

Re: Best Source Control/Backup: Perforce? CVS? Other?
You don't need source control at all. You need an efficient backup plan. Buy an external hard drive. Probably you already did that.

Re: flare 4: disable scan on startup?
I appreciate all the suggestions. I already knew about Disable Collecting Phrases. It's the first or second help topic when you search the Flare v4 help for 'disable scan'.

flare 4: disable scan on startup?
Does anyone know how I stop the scan that Flare 4 runs when I open a project?
When I started Flare 4 the first time on my main project it ran a scan that took 30 minutes. It's nice (read:overdue) that the analyzer features make an appearance but this should be something that happens on command ...

Re: Best practice in on-line help writing
Jakob Nielsen is a great place to start for info on CSS, topic linking, number of clicks, links within a topic and writing for the web/screen. He has a lot of info on his website for free:

Re: "MadCap Analyzer cannot open flprj files"
I got this same message when I downloaded and then tried to open my project.
I went and read the instructions in the PDF file to make sure I was doing it right and tried again. Second time was the charm, and it opened my project and started to process. You might try to open the flprj file twice in ...
