Re: Swap Style Tag From H2 to P
Tools like FAR HTML make jobs like this much easier. You can run a global search and replace and update both the start and end tags in one step.

Re: list displays double bullets
2 suggestions: Check to see if the bullet symbols are part of the text. This sometimes happens when importing or copy/pasting from Word. If they're part of the text, you can just delete them. Also, check the topic file in Flare's internal text editor. Often that will provide clues about what is ...

Re: .Net Framework error when binding Flare files with SVN
Try clicking Continue. When I bind a large project from within Flare, I get these types of messages. I just click Continue and it usually works ok. btw: I don't think TortoiseSVN is involved in that process. Flare is acting as the SVN client.

Re: Conditional Tags by topic
Snippet conditions let you control which content is displayed at the topic level. In the snippet, you set the conditions on the content that is topic-specific. For each topic that uses the snippet, you can include/exclude the conditioned content on the Topic Properties > Snippet Conditions window.

Re: Breadcrumb path displays Content Explorer file location?
@Marina: For the indexing, you can put the index entries in the topic heading, outside of the snippet.
Or you can use snippet conditions on the index entries inside the snippet to exclude them from some of the topics that use that snippet.

Re: Breadcrumbs questions
If the accordian TOC isn't visible anyway, structure the TOC to match how you want the breadcrumbs to appear. If you want Home on all breadcrumbs, put all topics under a Home book in the TOC.

Re: Multiple versions of the same topic in CHM output
My guess is that the old version is a separate htm file that is getting included in the chm output. Flare includes all topic files, unless they are specifically excluded with conditions or with the target setting "Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly". So even if a topic is not in the ...

Re: Index entry popups v second-level/subkeywords
fyi: Flare's Index pane (View > Index window) is a useful place for tweaking keywords: names, plurals, cases, etc. When you rename keywords in the Index window, Flare automatically updates the assigned topics. Much faster than finding and updating keywords in each topic.

Re: Index entry popups v second-level/subkeywords
The index popup window occurs whenever an index keyword is assigned to multiple topics. So you might have an index keyword "widgets" (no colon)that is assigned to 2 topics: "About widgets" and "Adding widgets." In this case, clicking the "widgets "main entry in the index would show a popup window ...

Re: Heading 1 Appears in HTML 5 Search Results Abstract
I have the same issue. All my topics are set to use the first heading as the topic title. So the text is shown twice in the HTML5 search results. Someday I'll get around to adding meta descriptions, but I'd like the search results to look better now.

Re: Benefits of Capture vs Hypersnap?
A Capture props file saves information about the original image before applying any size reductions or objects such as callouts or arrows. It's a nice way to get back to the original screenshot. Capture also uses props files to set print-only size/resolution settings so you can use the same image in ...

Re: Page layout with single and double columns?
You might be able to put the introductory, single-column paragraphs in a floating div. Specify the div width as the entire page width. If needed, you can set the first 2-column paragraph to "clear: left" so it will appear below the div, not beside it. I use this approch on my printed Index page, so ...

Re: headers/footers
For print targets, the Page Layout feature defines the headers and footers. You can have several page layouts for a project, and each layout can have a different first page, left page, right page, or "normal" page. You assign page layouts to topics on the target's TOC file. Page layouts are covered ...

Re: Is it possible to print the index in WebHelp?
I create a WordSpellCheck target that matches the conditions and variables of my WebHelp target. I also add an Index topic with index proxy to the WebHelp TOC and condition it as PrintOnly - so it won't show up in the WebHelp output. I use the Word output for spell checks. To include the index in ...

You can conditionally unbind the hyperlinks. No need to create the same content twice. Right-click anywhere in the hyperlink, and choose Conditions . Assign your hyperlink to a condition - I use "Condition.ATagLink". And check Unbind in lower left.

The problem was having a "None" setting in a custom skin. You can either change the setting back to the default or use a transparent gif file instead of none.

I haven't found a way to print from within the WebHelp output with the full-size images. I think the Print Size tab on the Edit Picture dialog affects Print targets (like pdf or Word) but doesn't affect printing from WebHelp.

Re: Moving files in Content Explorer. Is there a faster way?
This is a complete workaround, but it might save a little time (and headache). You could convert a copy of the TOC file to an alphabetical list of files for each book. Save the fltoc file to a text file somewhere outside of the Flare project. Open it in notepad and remove the <?xml version="1.0 ...
