Re: baseline for ordered list
Hi Trent, Thanks for your answer. Thing is, I showed a picture of the output. I have checked that *without* the <p> tags, the baseline is fine. If I include a <p> tag inside the list items <li>, I get a wonky baseline. Thing is, I can't find the source of the bad baseline. I have checked the "v...

baseline for ordered list
For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get the baseline of a numbered list to be the same for both the number and for the list text. You can see an example of what I don't want in the attached image. In the image the number is below the actual text for the list. Ideas?

Re: how to create different first, middle, and last pages
Hi Steve and others, Thanks for posting links to the user guide. Always helpful. But I have read the user guide and those links aren't necessarily helpful. I'm not sure if it's that I don't understand what I'm reading (always possible), if it's not explained well (also possible), or if Flare just is...

how to create different first, middle, and last pages
I know I can create a different first page, and normal page (for all the middle pages). In addition to that, I'd like to put the copyright info in the footer of the last page, whatever that page turns out to be, but I can't conjure up a way to do it. Any suggestions?

I tried your suggestions and they made no difference. It's so strange. I may end up using tech support.

Yes, Nita! We met many MadWorlds ago. Cannot forget your friendly nature and ability to cross the divide. We all benefit when you're around, so don't disappear! I will try your suggestions and let you know how it goes. I don't always work in Flare, but am now for a long-time client. I sometimes forg...

Re: PDF not using my page layout
Hi Nita, I hope you are enjoying retirement. And thank you for helping out even though you *are* retired! I am stumped because I *have* set the properties for the TOC item to use the QuickStart page layout, as in this screen shot. It's a one page document. Flare help.png In addition, I have Auto-end...

PDF not using my page layout
I have selected a particular page layout for my PDF target. I can see it on the screen when applied to the topic. But when I generate the output, the PDF is created without the page layout. It has a different page layout. What's interesting is that if I preview it, I see the correct page layout and ...

getting table header to stay with the table across the page break
I'd like to tell Flare to keep the <th> with the rest of the table and not break after across a page break. In Word, this attribute is called Keep with Next. In the print medium, under Print Support, I've set page-break-after to avoid, but it's not working.
Any suggestions?

Re: using Flare's built-in templates-locating & editing the TOC proxy
I think I may be answering my own question. On the Advanced tab of the print-based target, there is a setting called 'Generate TOC Proxy'. The tooltip says: "With this option enabled, a TOC proxy will automatically be placed at the beginning of the output if it is not already present." Gon...

using Flare's built-in templates-locating & editing the TOC proxy
I'm using one of Flare's built-in templates: Side Navigation and PDF Template.
I understand that the TOC is generated by the Frontmatter.flpgl file, but for the life of me, I can't find the TOC proxy. I'm sure I'm just missing something.
Thanks!

using Flare's built-in templates-deleting default text
Hi All, Trying to figure out how to delete the default template text from the cover page of the Flare PDF template. I've used Flare's guide to using these templates and I'm able to edit the colors and logos and such, but the text that says: "For more help or troubleshooting, please visit our on...

I recently installed Capture and some areas of the interface display poorly. Wondering if any of you have seen this and how you solved it. Check out the images. Well, image. The second image gets me an HTTP error. I'll try to add it again later.

Have you included a separate TOC topic, or are you using the automatically generated one. This topic https://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=27679 might explain some of the weird and wonderful aspects of a generated TOC. Wow. That was hugely helpful. Followed the link, read throu...

Hi all, I'm having a problem with my brain this morning and hoping one of you has warmed up yours in advance. I am creating a PDF from some help topics and everything is coming out fine. The only thing I'd like to change is the actual title above the TOC. Right now, it says TOC. I'm sure I put that ...

* Anything in the head section of a topic is not included in the output. If you want it in the head, it needs to be in the master page head section. * Anything in the body section of a topic is included in the output. That's it, Dave. Thanks. I hadn't put it in the master page. I tried that and it ...

I wonder how she is able to map to the bookmarks in the Alias Editor. That's the trick, I think. But I don't know how to do it.
I'm using Top Nav, so we're using the same output.

Hi All, I want to link from a page in our software to a help topic, but I don't want to link to the top of the topic. I want to create an anchor deeper down on the page and link to that location. But I don't know how to do that. I can make the anchor, obviously, but since I'm not able to edit the To...

Yes. Indeed. Did that just after I posted this note because I saw it once I posted it. However, the result is actually the same.Rene Severens wrote:Hi,

Re: how to end note div when text ends
Two CSS properties would help here: (1) To stop the background flowing behind other elements, use: overflow: auto; (2) If you also want to 'shrink-wrap' the box to fit the text/content, you could try: display: inline-block; The first doesn't seem to have worked. What happens is the note is pushed d...

how to end note div when text ends
Hi All, I've got a note style that I use all over the place. Sometimes, the length of the note goes only half way across the page. I'd want the background color of the note as well as its entire frame to end when the text ends. No need to have a long frame of color going across the page if there's n...
