It would be nice if MC would publish the xml elements/names for skins. I'd love to make my own. There are parts and pieces I'd like to include.

Content12.s3db size.
Hidy. I am concerned that Flare's Analyzer feature is schizo. The Content12.s3db file is over 64MB. That seems large. Often when I rename a file in CE, Flare will hang a long time. Granted, it's combing through all the files and looking for instances of links, etc. Other times, the CE will allow cop...

Re: Add title to Thumbnail Image popup?
Are you using the thumbnail CSS provided by Flare? OR Are you creating a thumbnail and putting it in a <div> with a popup link of some sort? First, Flare provides auto thumbnail popups for either click or mouseover/hover. See Image Properties: Thumbnail tab. There are several options. Perhaps you ca...

Drop Down Text mutually exclusive.
I would like for Drop-down-text to be mutually exclusive when they are consecutive. A similar operation would be mutually exclusive radio buttons or check boxes in an HTML submit form page. I've asked this before about togglers and no one responded. That was 2016. Is this a topic forbidden? BobB Dal...

Re: Flare Crashing Big Boxes Cover Desktop, and Adobe Air?
Thank you. Peer-to-peer is fine. MC cannot seem to find the answer. They have at least 5 bug submissions from me and I'm starting all over again. Last night the longest yet recorded was 15 minutes. There is something seriously wrong with the Content Explorer. Don't get me wrong, aside from all this,...

Flare Crashing Big Boxes Cover Desktop, and Adobe Air?
I found this issues this morning in my event log viewer after Flare hung up during moving files in Content Viewer. Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare 13\Flare.app\Resources\AdobeAIR\SDK\runtime\Adobe AIR\Versions\1.0\Adobe AIR.dll".Error...

Footnote Editor Runs Very Slow
Hidy: When editing footnote frames on Page Layouts, i.e. *.flpgl files, the editor runs very slowly. (The footnote editor is accessed by opening a page layout file, selecting a footnote frame and pressing F2). I have a single row, three column table in the footnote frame to keep things lined up. The...

Is there a way to make toggler's mutually exclusive?
I want to make Flare's toggler feature mutually exclusive, meaning if I open a toggler then open a different one, the previous one closes.
Any clues?

Re: Keystrokes in editor appear with large delay on screen
I just went through this with Support. Turn off the Analyzer options in the File > Options dialog. Flare reads every configuration file with each keystroke and mouse click in the XML editor. Apparently this turns it off. Life became sweet again. Hello! We use Flare 11 on two identical windows 10 mac...

Re: Flare 12: PDF output unusable!
IMHO, it is best to restart Flare 12 and 11 after every exception it throws. The occurrence, for me, is usually persistent. Also, it is import to send each bug report to MC as it occurs. If it continues have MC support review the exception reports. BobB My front cover has white text in a transparent...

Flare 12/64 Focus not returned to Topic after style select.
Flare 12/64 Selecting a style from the style window does not return focus to XML editor window. Constantly have to press F5 to regain focus to the topic window, even though the window title bar shows active. I've removed the layout midi file thing. Any Clues?

Re: Automate Browse Sequence
Hi Ben: There are so many reptitive tasks. I plugin to my fav music and go numb while doing them. HOWEVER, most of the config files in Flare are pure flat text XML files. Which means you can create a batch or script file to copy file names and titles and add them to the XML file structure. Attached ...

Re: Can you open multiple topics at once?
Painfully dumb question ... is there a way from within the Content Explorer to open multiple topics at once, rather than clicking to open one at a time? I feel like I'm missing something incredibly obvious. So far I've tried selecting multiple files using Shift + Click, and then double-clicking to ...

Re: Is over 8GB RAM recommended for system running Flare 11
More RAM is always better assuming you run a 64 bit OS. If it is necessary depends on what else you have running on the box. Yes. I know this is an old post, but RamonS...Wrong. Flare 11 and previous version are 32 bit, which means Flare will never have access to more than 3 GB of RAM available to ...

Re: Flare 12 "crashing" constantly

Flare 12/64 Mysterious Big Black Box Bug Still with us.
Since, oh I don't know, version 6 of Flare, there has been a mysterious big black box that covers the screen and takes my desktop hostage until Flare has resolved whatever is taxing its code. Re: Flare 12 64 Bit version Slow?
I'm running windows 10 with similar specs.
