Table Properties

In FrameMaker, I designed a table to look like this:
pay345 reference.png
Can I use the TableStyle Editor to make the header borders look the same in Flare? If so, I can't figure out how. Is there another way to make it look the way I want?

Thanks,

Disappearing Table Borders

Hi all,
I'm experiencing some table behaviour in my Web Help that seems odd. I wanted to check with you all to see if this is expected or strange?

I've got a table with outer top and bottom borders. It also has borders inside to separate each column and each row.

When I open the Web Help, I see ...

Hi Margaret,
I'm not sure why I never got a notification that you responded to my post. Thank you for taking the time to post that response. I am not too afraid to make a simple change like that. :-)

Re: Image Distortion in Web Output

Wil,
Thanks for posting. I'd almost given up on this issue, and I never saw Steve's post until I saw yours today.

Update: Steve, after I didn't get a solution from this forum, I logged a support case. The tech support rep told me that this was happening because of an existing bug because I was ...

Re: Table Header Not Lining Up with Table Row

Hi Lisa,
A couple of questions if you don't mind. (Caveat: they are probably going to sound very elementary and lame, but that's just where I'm at right now.)

First of all, I don't know how to insert a table without selecting a table style. Each time I go to Table>Insert>Table, I see the dialog ...

Table Header Not Lining Up with Table Row

Hi all,
When I create a table, the column lines in the header row appear slightly to the left of the body column lines. I assume this is a setting that I've set up incorrectly in my style sheet, but I can't figure out how to fix it. Is anyone familiar with this issue?

Here's what my table looks ...

Re: Hiding Style Intended for Web Output in Print Output

Hi Andrew,
There's no reason that I'm not using display: none other than it didn't occur to me? Is that a property in the stylesheet?

Re: Hiding Style Intended for Web Output in Print Output

Hi Lisa,
I have ol ol, ul ul, etc. complex selectors. I'm not using them in this project. I'm using p.Bulleted for my lists. How can I tell if the complex selectors are interfering?

Hiding Style Intended for Web Output in Print Output

Hi,
I'm creating a guide that I need to produce print and web output for. I wasn't happy with the way the end of my web topics were looking, so I decided to add a p.EndOfTopic style that I use to create padding at the end of each topic. I created it in the non-print medium. I've verified that the ...

Re: Image Distortion in Web Output

Hi Laura,
Sorry for the delayed response. I never got a notification that you responded to this and I've been busy with other stuff.

All of the images are 96 DPI and they are all around 1101x882 px. All of my images appear skewed in the web output.

Thanks,

Image Distortion in Web Output

Hi all,
I have a variety of screen shots in my project (which has both PDF and Web outputs). When I view the images in my PDF output, they look just as I expect. When I view the same images in the web output (which I've applied the thumbnail effect to) they look terrible. They appear to be cinched ...

Re: Search/Replace Code Reverts after Save

Thank you for taking the time to explain this to me, Ladies.
I just needed to increase the font size for all text in the tables, but my brain was in a rut thinking that I needed to do that thru a style for text. I didn't even think of the TableStyle Editor, but once Lisa suggested it, I set the ...

Search/Replace Code Reverts after Save

I'm utterly stumped. My mission is to change all td styles in one topic using the Find and Replace feature in the text editor rather than going cell by cell in the XML editor. Originally, I was trying to save time, but I think I've wasted more time trying to figure this out than it would have taken ...

Unlink to Imported Files Source

Hi all,
I've got a TOC in my Flare project that is linked to the source files. I must have accidentally checked the "Link Generated Files To Source Files" checkbox when I imported from FM...

Can anyone tell me if there's a way to undo this without re-importing?

Thank you,

Re: applying stylesheets

The purple color for the p tag took! I can't view the code; I assume is this because I'm creating a PDF?
I do have "print" selected for the medium in the Target Editor's Advanced tab.

The stylesheet seems to be working for the most part, but changes I make to the p.ManualTitle style do not take ...

Re: applying stylesheets

Lisa,
Thank you for the in-depth explanations. I found that line of code in all of the topics in this TOC. I removed the line of code, saved the files while still in the internal text editor, and then rebuilt it. The master stylesheet now shows as "default" in the Topic Properties, and "Styles.css ...

Re: applying stylesheets
