Re: Want to keep lead-in sentence for list on same page as list

Lisa,

That's it -- that's all I needed to do -- I set the frame's vertical alignment property to bottom and the text appears where it should! Thank you, thank you, thank you

Re: Want to keep lead-in sentence for list on same page as list

Hi Lisa,

Thanks so much -- I had thought of creating a new style for lead-in sentences, and luckily my project is still at a size that is manageable enough that I can go through it and re-apply the new style.

I thought I could create a new page called "Index" in my page layout file and format the ...

Want to keep lead-in sentence for list on same page as list

I'm about 90% done setting up a pretty good set of page layouts for PDF output but I have three issues that I have not been able to resolve:

1. I want sentences that lead in to a list to stay with the list instead of having a page break inserted after the lead in sentence and before the list. In my ...

Want to modify or remove topic path in index results pane

In the Flare Viewer (V6), the index results pane displays each topic title and the paths to each topic title. All of the paths are appended with "#anchorN" where N = some number. Is there a way to remove the "#anchorN" from the paths displayed in the index pane?

Thanks!

Table borders do not reflect borders defined in table style

I'm not sure if anyone can help me without seeing my files/XML, but thought I'd give it a shot... Maybe this problem is a result of upgrading to V6 as I did not encounter this in V5.

I have a table style (Basic) that has thin borders around the outside of the table and for all rows. This style ...

Can you search for text and replace it with a variable?

Hi,

Anyone know if there is a way to use "Find and Replace" to find a word in all of the topics in my project and replace each instance of the word with a variable?

Thanks,
Amy

Can you insert a registered trademark symbol in a variable?

Wondering if there is a way to insert a registered trademark (as a symbol) in a variable? For example, ProductName (R). I can copy and paste the symbol into the variables editor but I cannot figure out how to make it appear as a superscript symbol in the output.

Thanks,
Amy

Re: Small caps not working with Flare 6

I use small caps with an initial capital letter for most of my headings and I am having the same issue since upgrading to Flare 6 this morning. I truly hope MadCap can fix this problem.

Re: Translating callouts on screen captures

As a followup for the benefit of folks following this thread, there is one catch -- although the callouts can be easily translated because they are stored in separate XML files, the rectangle or bubble that contains the text for the callout does not resize. So, if the translation results in more ...

Re: Translating screen capture callouts

I contacted MadCap Support and they told me of one other option:

Translating callouts on screen captures

I understand that Capture saves callouts/text as (XML-based) objects that are separate from a screen capture and thus translating the callouts is straightforward. What I am wondering is what advantage this offers if I have to re-take the screen capture in different languages -- is there a way to ...

Re: Translating screen capture callouts

Hi Ramon,

Thanks for the info re: screen portraits. I may consider going that route. In the meantime, can you elaborate a bit on the workflow for taking a screen capture in a different language yet being able to retain the callouts in the same location as on the original screen capture? I'm brand ...

Re: Find and replace index keywords?

Hi Lisa,

Re: Find and replace index keywords?

Hi Lisa,

Flare freezes when updating links of moved topics (Perforce)

Hi,
