Re: Note, Caution, Warning icons are HUGE!

Hi, I noticed that your icon is svg. Are you using Adobe Illustrator? If so, then that's the cause of your problem. Try using Inkscape. I can't remember where i found the solution, but it has to do with how Illustrator is saving the file. I had the exact same issue for my bullets. My svg file was 10...

Re: Dimensions of .svg background image in Master page layout???

I completely forgot about this thread! I had created a custom bullet (circle.svg) back when Flare started supporting svg and our bullets were rendering correctly in our outputs (PDF and HTML5). Now, due to changes to my company's style, i decided to update our flare template. So using Illustrator CC...

Re: Dimensions of .svg background image in Master page layout???

Have you been able to solve this issue? I too am experiencing a similar issue with my .svg file. I changed the colour of my image and it exploded in size! I'm running Flare 9 and 10. For now, I'm still using the original image without the colour change.

Lingo Background thread error when creating a new project

Hi all, Has anyone experienced the following when creating a new lingo 7 project? Each time I try creating a new project, i get an error message (See image). I did read in one of the threads that it might be an SQL/Visual Studio issue. I'm running Visual Studio 2010 premium and I just upgraded to SQ...

Re: 1 PDF with 2 topics that show diff conditions??? Possbile?

I haven't actually tried it and I wondering if it was even possible.
I'll try out your suggestion, but what would i do in the PDF properties? Would i not have any conditions included/excluded? In any case, I'll give it a try on a test release notes and post my findings.

1 PDF with 2 topics that show diff conditions??? Possbile?

I'm wondering if the following is possible in Flare. I think the straight answer is no, but I thought I'd ask anyways. I'm trying to see if I can avoid maintaining 2 tables and to reuse a single table that lists defects in a release notes for both fixed and current defects. I have 2 conditions: FIXE...

Re: How to change indent of UL in non-print output?

To follow up on this, my target is using the non-print medium and changing the margin-left value on the li tag to -24x did the trick.

Thanks everyone!

Re: How to change indent of UL in non-print output?

The medium is set to non-print. However, I will have another look to make sure that it's using the correct medium. We're in the process of redesigning our template so it may take awhile for me to post my findings.

Thanks!

How to change indent of UL in non-print output?

Can someone tell me what property i need to adjust in my .css template (non-print) so that the bullets in my UL align with the paragraph above?
When I generate a PDF, the alignment is fine.
See the followning image to get an idea of what i want to do.

Thanks!

DITA abstract element not being imported

Hi, I'm having a strange issues when importing DITA topics in Flare 6. After the import and I open my Flare project, I see that the DITA abstract element hasn't been imported, but everything else has. I get the same issue with the trial version of Flare 8. Can anyone help me figure out what I might ...

Re: Pair Kerning for better typography in PDF?

I think I'm having the same issue as well. See my topic about ArialMT replacing Arial. I'm doing the same thing as you creating a Flare template to match our company's print standards for look and feel. The kerning issue is only happening on 1 laptop with Win7. Have you tried generating the PDF on a...

Re: Help with Arial being replaced with ArialMT in PDF output

i-tietz, To answer each of your suggestions: 1. Win XP with Service Pack 3 (SP3) had it's problems with fonts ... do you use it? Then maybe you shouldn't. The issue is on Win7 not WinXP and only on my laptop. 2. There's something like "replacement tables" in Windows somewhere. They list wh...

Re: Help with Arial being replaced with ArialMT in PDF output

I got a chance to compare the two pdfs, and there's lot of differences. I installed Flare on my Win XP PC and generated the PDF and it came out fine. I'll get my colleague to give it a try since she has a similar laptop and setup as i do. I just tried generating the PDF on my colleague's win7 laptop...

Re: Help with Arial being replaced with ArialMT in PDF output

On a WinXP machine they look as is. That is the Bad PDF looks bad and the good PDF looks good. I'm suspecting that it might be a distiller job option or something similar that's causing the issue, but I have no clue what Flare uses to generate the PDFs.

Re: Help with Arial being replaced with ArialMT in PDF output

I took a look at the font properties for the PDF that i generate at home and that too says ArialMT. However, that PDF turns out fine.
Here are pages from the two pdfs. What I need is my output to look like the one on the right.

What i did was copy the project from my home laptop to my work laptop. Both are running win7 64-bit, acrobat 9, and frame 9. When i generate the PDF on my home laptop, the PDF is fine, but on the work laptop it's different. When I look at the properties of the DPF, it says ArialMT. I didn't try outp...

Re: Help with Arial being replaced with ArialMT in PDF output

Yes to both questions. Print-medium is set to Arial and it's on PC. What's even weird is that I don't have ArialMT on the machine yet that's the font that appears in the PDF.
