Re: Safely moving Flare project

Thank you, Ramon! After some thrilling successes last evening and a good night's sleep, I'm back to loving computers. I never could find the right ribbon for my typewriter anyway.

If anyone else comes looking for this answer, zipping the files and extracting them to a new location worked great. I ...

Re: Safely moving Flare project

It's amazing how often I can struggle with something for hours, but then figure out the solution as soon as I ask for help. (This works with household items such as pickle jars as well as software-related tasks.)

On a whim, I tried using File > Zip > Zip Project. I saved the file to a text location ...

Safely moving Flare project

I have a bit of a novice question, and I've spent a couple of hours searching through the forums and the MadCap documentation, and I'm not finding anything that addresses what I'm trying to do. I apologize if this has been answered elsewhere.

The project I am currently working on is saved on a ...

Re: Another glossary question

I'm not sure if this is the best solution, but I also have some definitions that I want constantly displayed. I ended up using Snippets for those terms. Sure, you'll have to copy the work from the glossary, but at least you won't be pasting the definition in every time.

Re: style changes not updating in output

Oh, that's good to know! I'm very new to Flare, and I'm the only person in my company who uses it. It's nice to gather tips like this from other users.

I must say this is one of the most helpful and friendly forums I've ever visited.

Thanks all!

Re: style changes not updating in output

Andrew,

I've used the default medium settings for both (I'm in the very early stages of the drafting process, so I haven't tinkered with much). However, I don't readily see how to change the medium for the stylesheet other than the default/print/non-print drop-down menu at the top. Is that what you ...

Re: style changes not updating in output

Wow, thank you for the quick response!

There's only one stylesheet. Also, this is a new project rather than an import from other software, so it's not inheriting anything weird from its previous incarnation.

I triple-checked the body tag and searched through the stylesheet in Notepad. I did find ...

style changes not updating in output

Hello all!

I've tried searching the forums and the MadCap knowledge base, and now I turn to you.

I'm using Flare 5.0, Windows Vista 64-bit, Google Chrome (as my primary browser), and Internet Explorer 8 (as my secondary browser).

I've been asked to change the font of the body text from Verdana to ...
