Is there an easy way to have a paragraph with coloured borders and an image:

similar to what you see in the idiot's guides books:

Thanks, I had not seen the plugin before.

I was referring to some of the legal software which enables you to set up contracts and tenders and then complete a mail merge from databases.

Flare is brilliant for many documentation tasks but like all software just lacks those few extras.

I was wondering if anyone had found a way to draw data from a mysql database into an HTML document so that data is kept "live" rather than just use Flares Keywords?
There is a rival to flare with this capability but its not as good as flare in other aspects

simple test

take a new project create a version with only output as word and run it yes you have a word output with contents, one page and a glossary.
Now go back and alter page layout put a border at top of main layout area.

rerun ...

As I said in post this is not minor issues
I have used madcap since its early days so know its quirks which there are many

Anyone having issues with output to word 2016?

No matter what I do to change the master page layout its not reflected in the word output.
I can test with output to pdf or xps and it all works fine (adding columns, changing background colour) but none of this shows in my word output.

No the above is not quite true.

We have been making a chm product with Flare for several years.
Embedded PDF files as hyperlinks and it all worked fine.

I have just complied our latest update and the the pdf's don't display.

My guess its some windows update!!

I am am just starting to do some ePub work using Flare. I have run into a problem with Indexes. Its best illustrated if you create a New project using the sample pdf book project supplied with Flare. In PDF it works fine you end up with an index as shown:

It turned out that the problem was down to the search function not working and it was solved by using: Not something that woudl be used by on line help normally

C:\Program Files\MadCap Software\MadCap Flare\Flare.app\Resources\Bin and run RegisterItcc.bat ...

Thanks for the input, sadly the datbase suppliers say its the software....as the free version works fine............I can guess what MAdcap will say..but here goes

I have attached the field properties screen grab as you see there is only a very simple set of choices.

I have doen similiar to this with lots of other software products and had no problems............now for the cruncher it works if I write a simple CHM file using the free product Help scribble

Yep as I guessed but I have tried that and no sucess. I have kept it extremly simple just a one page help file. The page is named title and there is a link in the alis file but do bear in mind Alpha five does not appear to require the alis number or anything just the page title.

Does anyone have any experience of alpha five database software. Creating an external CHM help file link appears to be simple:
