Thanks, Nita! I wasn't even aware of the Reports functionality. It's very helpful.

How to tell which figures are used in a project?
Hello all:
I have several graphics files that are used in my project and would like to know specifically which are used and which are not (and would like to move the unused ones out of the project).
I know that you can use Project Analysis to tell which topic files are not used in any TOC.

Re: How to exclude unused files from Webhelp?
Hello Nita:
Thanks for your reply.
I think you're saying: This is a flaw in Flare.
It would seem to me that there should be an option for the user to request that the Webhelp package should contain only the files that are called for by the TOC. This is how the PDF output works--it only includes ...

How to exclude unused files from Webhelp?
Hello all:
I have a project with five TOCs and two outputs--PDF and Webhelp--thus 10 targets.
When I create the PDF output, only the figures that are actually called for in the TOC show up in my Table of Figures. But with the Webhelp output, all the figures used in any of the TOCs show up.

Re: Embedding .AVI, .MPG, or .WMV files?
Okay, I found a solution, which is actually pretty simple.
I put my video files into the HTML folder (with all my HTML files).
Then I use Insert: Hyperlink and then choose File in Current Folder and pick the video file.
And it's inserted as a hyperlink and goes into the correct output file (with ...

Re: Embedding .AVI, .MPG, or .WMV files?
I tried inserting the file as if it's a picture and got this message: unsupported media
I proceeded anyway and then brought up the webhelp and it's perpetually loading the file.
I don't think there's a way to do this in Flare V5, which is what I'm using.
Which makes Flare not a very useful tool ...

Thanks for the comments.
No, I haven't tried to do this yet.
I'm using Version 5 of Flare.
I'll be using webhelp output.

Embedding .AVI, .MPG, or .WMV files?
Hello all:
I need to make some HTML files with embedded video in the .AVI, .MPG, or .WMV format.
Is there a way to do this using Flare (in conjunction with other products or using Flare alone)?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Change bars: Are they available in Flare?
A change bar is a bar in the margins of the page showing lines that changed in a rewrite.
Any method of showing changed text will do. But since I use the term "change bars," I don't recognize whatever term Flare uses and can't find the answer.

Change bars: Are they available in Flare?
I'm trying to use change bars for my PDF output to show changes from the previous version of the PDF.
is this possible? I can't find any information in the forums.

Re: Autonumbering not working
Well, I solved my problem by checking the Start a new section checkbox for Printed Output in the Properties for each section 1 entry in the TOC and resetting the autonumbering for the first section in each chapter to start with 1 and setting up my H2 autonumbering format to be {chapnum}.{secnum ...

Autonumbering not working
I'm trying to set up a file with numbering like this:
1: First chapter
1.1 First section in first chapter
1.2 Second section in first chapter
2: My second chapter
2.1 First section in second chapter
2.2 Second section in second chapter
And so on.
I've tried various things, and nothing works ...

1.1 First section in first chapter
1.2 Second section in first chapter
2: My second chapter
2.1 First section in second chapter
2.2 Second section in second chapter

How to insert a picture caption?
I can't readily figure out how to insert a caption for a picture.
My primary output is HTML Help and my secondary output is PDF.
So: my picture is there, my caption is not. How to do it?
