Re: PDF Output Bookmarks

Hi there,
I have the same issue.

Was your suggestion to use the "Include non-TOC bookmarks in the bookmarks page" checkbox in the pdf target?
I cannot use that because I have other bookmarks in my document which I don't want to show up in the pdf bookmarks pane.

So the question is still not ...

Two similar entries in Glossary

Hi there,
in my glossary or list of abbreviation I have two similar entries with different meanings, e.g. AAA for Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm and AAA for Amino Acid Analysis. When I add a glossary link to "AAA", one of them gets automatically linked, I have no choice there. Probably it's the first in ...

Re: Applying one character style on top of another

Hi there,
thanks about all the research and information. I think the problem is neither if the formatting makes sense nor how it will be displayed in a browser.

If it was not allowed to use a span tag inside of another span tag, it should never be allowed. But generally it IS allowed: It works when ...

Re: Applying one character style on top of another

Hi there,
Thanks for your suggestions.
What I don't understand is why applying the second style deletes the first one?
When I format text as "bold" using the tool bar and then format the whole sentence as "italic", the bold word stays bold. Why doesn't that work with styles, too?
And when I apply ...

Applying one character style on top of another

Hi there,
I would like to keep a previously applied character style when selecting a new one on top ... I give an example:
Let's say I have the text "I like apples." First I apply my span.italic to the 'like'. (I like apples.) Then I want to apply span.bold to all three words.
Now in my project ...

I hoped that there is some automatic feature ...
I think it is a common (or at least understandable) requirement, that you want to have an "easily readable" hyperlink text where the user can click on it (Webhelp or pdf file ...) but if it is printed on paper the user has to have the entire URL ...

Different URL formatting in WebHelp / printed output

Hi there,
in our project we have a few hyperlinks to different websites.
Now I would like to format those hyperlinks differently - depending on the target. For WebHelp I want to have something like "You can find detailed information in our Knowledgebase ", where the user can click on the link to get ...

Using variable in topic titles

Hi there,
we are using Flare 7 to create WebHelps (and pdf output).
At the moment our topic titles are set to the default "Always use first topic heading". The headings correspond to the tabs in the program interface we describe. In different sections of the program you can find the same tab names ...

cell height when using subscript or superscript characters

Hi there,
our help text contains variables and formulas with characters using subscript and/or superscript format. Thus the line height, i.e.the distance between the lines increases when the line contains subscript or superscript characters.
When this kind of text stands in a table, two things don't ...

Re: Framemaker-Import: TOC is not generated - German version

Hello there,
one year later, with version 6, I am having another problem concerning the same problem.
Last year, with version 5, I found out that I had to rename the paragraph formats in the Framemaker TOC from "IVZ", which is the german default abbreviation, to "TOC". Then the TOC import worked ...

Error during Framemaker import caused by PDF file creation

Hello there,
we are importing a Framemaker book into Flare. On one computer (Flare V5, Acrobat 9) the import works fine. On another computer (Flare V6, Acrobat 8) Flare shows error messages "A PDF file is taking a long time to create. Do you want to abort the operation?". Irrespective of the answer ...

Re: Special characters wrong in TOC and Index

Hi there,
I got it. I set the Project Properties and the Target language to the right language and now it looks fine.

Does anyone know about the error message during compilation "No language skin file available for language ‚xx‘"?

What consequences does it have?

Thanks

Special characters wrong in TOC and Index

Hello,

The contents of the topics looks good, whereas there are several problems in the generated TOC and Index. The russian entries only consist of ?????, some of the czech and polish special characters are wrong.
Are ...

Re: Formulas are converted incorrectly - wrong images in help

Hello,
one step further: I found out that the import mechanism has problems with german special characters (ä, ö, ü) in the formulas.
Most of the formulas with special characters are converted into those strange "Tipps"-jpgs.
However - not all of them. I found one formula which was converted ...

Re: Formulas are converted incorrectly - wrong images in help

So if you don't like the german version, have a look at our french one. These are the respective incorrect images generated out of the french Framemaker files.
As you probably assume, it's the french translation for "Tipps:"
I don't know how this paragraph numbering format intervenes with the ...

Formulas are converted incorrectly - wrong images in help

Hi there,

The last one was created from an original *.wmf file.
So it happens with most of the formulas and wmf files, but not with all of them.
