Hey Madcap - did you do anything in Version 7 to make this work out?
The WebHelp Setup "Topic Settings" for Show navigation link at top/bottom of topic are great - but we want to use it even when it is not a stand alone topic. Got any ideas how we can work around this?
One more thing - can we set ...

Re: Flare 7 hangs when importing a project from Subversion
64mb took less than an hour for me.
I submitted our 250mb project to Madcap who said they reproduced the problem. They passed it to development as bug 43765 in case we ever get to see it as fixed.

I see this thread is a little old, so hopefully you've worked it out.

Re: Flare 7 hangs when importing a project from Subversion
We are trying a WORK AROUND for this sick SVN FLARE puppy. We will use Tortoise to manage the files independent of Flare. Flare happily lets us edit since all it needed was files that are not read-only. Painful but a work around. Can't wait two days for this import to load. :?

Re: Flare 7 hangs when importing a project from Subversion
Same problems when BINDING the source to SVN repository on WIndows 7 64 bit with 8GM ram. Project size is 5800 files in 340 folders (268mb) - Content and Project folders only.
Repeated attempts always seems to hang at same location.
Smaller project seems ok.

Loosing changes in Flare and SVN
Flare 7, Apache SVN

Re: icon to indicate locked file
We'd like to see this fixed too, but it might not be all flare issue. The SVN process from the client (a al Flare SVN integration?) doesn't poll the server to see if the file's status has changed. It's only when you Check In the file that the status is known.

Re: Subversion - To Plug-In or Not to Plug-In
We noticed that if you add your Flare project to your SVN repository the first time by "binding" the project to the SVN source control, Flare is smart enought to NOT bind unneccessary folders like Users and OUtput. That's a good thing

For what it's worth - i have the same problem and haven't found a solution yet either. I wish the error was a little ( a lot ) more descriptive.

Re: Image is regenerating. But why?
If you are using this img max-width in your css, Flare automatically creates the resized image.
Don't use img {max-width: 425px;} if you don't want the extra images. Flare also retains the original image in the output. No savings on file folder.

Re: Error Message: Failed to copy and resize image
I have seen this if my style calls for something like this - td img {max-width: 90%;}. If I change it to 300px, the error goes away.
Also, when there is a style for img, then the auto-generate feature is overridden and it performs the action of creating new images according to support (Alvaro Case ...

I have similar problem and i'm faced with two solutions.

Re: Graphics alongside numbered or bulleted lists
I was going to suggest the same thing as Dave about using auto-numbered paragraphs. If you do that, you don't need the table at all -- Flare doesn't have a problem with floated images next to paragraphs. Word probably won't like it, so if you're building Word output then you'll need to stick to ...

It's definitely much better practice to use mediums.

Re: Best Practice for CSS multiple targets
Thanks for the feedback.
One advantage to two .css files is that my buddy can make a change to on-line (non-print) and not affect the pdf (print) at all.
Occaisionally, a quick fix at the top of the file (default) has an impact on the @media print section without us realizing it was done ...

Best Practice for CSS multiple targets
I have multiple targerts - PDF and online.
Which is better practice overall?

2 - Use a CSS file for each target type (pdfStyle.css, onlineStyle.css)

I've requested that Flare support nameddest (named destinations) in PDF targets. They said they'd think about it. If you agree it's a good idea, comment here and let them know.
