Re: Building target disrupts source control
Well, what you say makes plenty of sense. However, the software developer wants a way to run a compile process and have a guarantee that his compiled output used the latest version of the Flare WebHelp output. We could, of course, check out the Flare sources and build output at compile time but that ...

Re: Building target disrupts source control
A sw developer checks out the WebHelp output using SVN to integrate into his GUI app, so I can't exclude the Output folder fron source control. Is this an inappropriate use of source control? What's the best way to handle this?

Building target disrupts source control
I've put a project into TortoiseSVN. This works OK until I rebuild my webhelp target and Flare overwrites all the output files and directories, including all the hidden .svn files that SVN uses for tracking. Why does this happen? Will binding to source control through Flare using PushOK's plugin for ...

Re: Numbered list items with p element vs Safari
Here's the style definition for the step number style used:
p.Stepnum
{
mc-auto-number-format: '{n+}. ';
mc-auto-number-offset: 18pt;
margin-left: 18pt;
margin-top: 0;
margin-bottom: 2pt;
border-left-style: none;
border-left-width: 0px;
border-right-style: none;
border-right-width: 0px ...

Re: Numbered list items with p element vs Safari
How do I post a style? I have mc-autonumber-position to outside-head to set up the para number as a hanging indent like in a list built with ol:li. Changing position to inside-head puts the autonumbers at the left margin inside the text; I want this to look like a numbered list:
1. Blah blah text ...

Re: Numbered list items with p element vs Safari
I set Block:text-align to left for this class, which I've called p.stepnum; still has the same problem when viewed in Safari. As I said, lists that use li look OK in Safari but not ones with a class of the p element that has autonumbering set up.

Numbered list items with p element vs Safari
I have an odd browser-specific problem with my output from Flare 6. WebHelp output with numbered lists composed of a class of the p element don't all line up with the left margin when viewed in Safari unless the text in all the list items equals or exceeds the width of the browser window. With wider ...

Image transparency disabled after resizing
Folks, I have an image for the company logo that I use in a couple of help topics. It consists mainly of a colored circle on a transparent background. I save a .png file from Photoshop and do Insert>Picture in Flare. If I then generate WebHelp output, the logo looks fine, with the topic background ...

Re: Output shows borders on numbered para items
Wow, how arcane. That was it! Inside-head didn't show the boxes. I removed borders from the td tag and made a class for cell borders. Now my output looks right. Thanks!

Output shows borders on numbered para items
I created a class of the p tag and set it up for autonumbering. This works fine except that the WebHelp output shows table-like borders: each line has an empty box, then a box for the autonum, the a box for the body text. Nothing is set on this class for borders in the stylesheet. How can I make ...

Re: Autonumbered list and x-refs
The fix for this (from Ryan at tech support): set up a class of the p tag with autonumbering and set mc-auto-number-position to outside-head. I then set mc-auto-number-offset to something (I picked 18 pt) and box:margin-left also to 18 pt. Once I created a cross-reference format that showed the ...

Re: Background color question
Header and body tags have no background color set. For the page layout, the page properties show a color set but it's a different color from the colors shown for header, body, or footer frames. The color I see is the same as that set for the header and footer in the page layout but it won't let me ...

Background color question
Where do you set or change the background color for content pages? I have a project with a background color showing for all text; text styles don't have a background color set and the skin seems to have no place to set it. The project doesn't use any master pages. The default page layout has a ...

Autonumbered list and x-refs
I want to set up a numbered list that uses an autonumbered para tag (so cross-references to list items can include the list item number) and that has the format of an ordered list in which the autonumbers have a hanging indent and the body para text lines up on the left even when the text flows into ...

The change is visible in the stylesheet editor preview. When I save the stylesheet change and then view the doc window, the doc has not changed.

Problems running Flare on Mac
Anyone out there having success with Flare 5 or 6 under Parallels? VMWare Fusion? Boot Camp?
I've installed Parallels 5 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.6.2. Under Parallels I have Windows 7 and Flare 6.
When I make a change to a style sheet (for example, the font for h1), the change shows up in ...

Importing list item number x-ref from Word
I have a Word 2007 source file with a cross-reference to a bookmarked entry in a numbered list. In Word, the reference shows up as the number of the list item, which is what I need to make a "go to step 9" type of link. When I import into Flare, the reference shows the entire body text of the ...
