Index Pane and 120 DPI/125% view in Windows

Some of our customers use our software in 125% view (Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display). In the DotNet Help viewer, in the Index Pane, the letters that have descenders (like p, q, y, g) are all being cut off. I have tried everything in the Project > Skins > Skin Name > Styles ...

Index Keywords Suggestions in Analyzer 4

Is there any way to customize the sensitivity of the Index Keyword Suggestions in Analyzer 4? It is way too sensitive - it makes some really interesting connections, like coming up with the first instance of a word (example: report) in each help topic, because the keyword already exists in other top...

Yes, it does happen if I manually build the target.

Topics showing up in help when excluded via condition tags

OS: Windows 7 64-bit Version: Flare 7.1 I'm running down to the wire here on a major deadline, and now it seems that Flare is IGNORING my conditions. The Primary target is DotNet help. It has a condition tag of HelpOnly. Every other condition tag is excluded. (I've checked the dialog box AND looked ...

I've been using Flare 7 and a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Not having any issues, and compile times seem a lot faster.

Re: System out of memory exception error popup.

I'm getting this error popup too, but didn't get it until Flare 7.

Looks like I need to split my TOC. The entire TOC will still show in printed output, correct? I don't want to split the TOC and then find out it doesn't work (this is a 1000 page PDF, covering ~2600 topics).

Printing to PDF when *not* a target

When I send new or revised help topics to our QA, I generate a PDF directly from the help topic by selecting File > Print, then selecting the Adobe PDF printer. I'm getting the following issues: "Failed to run command 'Print'. Exception: The specified datatype is invalid" Has anyone else r...

Re: Target compile pulls too many topics

How would the Global Project Linking work with TFS source control? We have integrated the source control with Flare and Microsoft Team Foundation Server, so the deliverables from Flare are built automatically during the nightly build. As for creating a folder for just these help topics, they are als...

Re: Target compile pulls too many topics

My target is conditionalized. My topic files are conditionalized for only that target. Are you telling me I have to conditionalize the other 2500 topics to exclude them from the DotNetHelp? *thud* If that's the way it has to be, I will - but I'm putting in a feature request to fix that. I should be ...

Target compile pulls too many topics

I have multiple targets and multiple TOCs. The target I have an issue with is for a very small "password" help file. Target: DotNetHelp TOC: 6 topics This target, when compiled, compiles the 6 topics into the applicable target. HOWEVER, it compiles *all* the help topics in the entire proje...

Re: Are folks using the Analyzer link checking?

I am using it. I have discovered that the "broken links" it finds are often in the source code, and NOT visible unless you send the file to the text editor.

Now if I could just figure out some of the stylesheet broken link issues....

Re: Merging Flare CHMs into master RoboHelp project

I have a 23 page document that I refer to every time I convert a RoboHelp project to Flare. A good portion of that document is "find and remove/find and replace" stuff that needs to happen. However, I am not still doing the master project in RoboHelp like it seems you are. Some places to l...

Re: CHM compile has error

*headsmack* My issue is fixed. It had nothing to do with file permissions, individual folders, or long filenames/pathnames. Thanks to Beyond Compare, I finally figured out that my target file (.fltar) was woefully insufficient - my previous project (which this project was based on) had a much more r...

Re: Building PDF target still thinks previous PDF is open

But why is it doing it now, when it didn't before in Flare 5? To me, it's unrealistic to think that I have to close out Acrobat every time I want to generate a new PDF, just because Flare isn't sensing that the file has been closed. Especially when I didn't have to in the last release. Guess that's ...

Trouble with importing from Framemaker 7 into Flare 6

I had issues with importing my Framemaker documents (version 7.0) into Flare version 6. Since this was successful in Flare 5, I was mystified.
