Re: Help! Resources dir added to all paths

All good questions! Thanks for taking the time, Marjorie. I'm going ot answer the questions but before you spend too much time thinking about it, let me fill you in on what I've learned. I tried to recreate Project B (Import TO) from a brand new project. I got the same errors. I then removed the thr...

Help! Resources dir added to all paths

I import files from project A into project B. This afternoon I did a build in project B (as I have done MANY times today) and suddenly every path in the imported files has an extra /Resources directory. So the graphic that is in /Resources/Images/LCD is now shown to be in /Resources/Resources/Images...

Building target says Master TOC is empty

I have a target that I use to generate Word files from my various TOCs. The normal output for these TOCs is WebHelp but occasionally someone wants to see a Word file. The target very happily outputs 4 of the 5 TOCs with no problem. The fifth, which is of course the one I need, fails with the followi...

help with margin, padding, and background color

Hi, all. here's my situation: notebullets.jpg I have this lovely list of notes in my doc. Ideally, I'd like to have a level1 bullet with little or no indent for those items preceded by the endash and then have a level2 bullet for the last three items in this graphic. I also want/need the background ...

Thank you both for replying. I looked at all three options and it turned out that the graphic file itself had an incorrect condition applied. Thanks for the 'extra eyes."

Image is excluded?

Can anyone tell me why the image in this code is being excluded? I'm running Flare 8.1.2. The text before it and the table behind it are printing, but not the image. <p class="NoPageBreakAfter">The following diagram shows a typical configuration at a residence: </p> <p class="NoPageBr...

applying conditions to multiple files

I have a single project that is used to generate 5 different role-based deliverables. Lots of content sharing so lots of conditions. I need/want to apply conditions to the images so I don't get hundreds of files in the output that are not really used in the content. Is there a way to apply a single ...

Re: Flare 8 Niggles

Another niggle. My doc has a fairly long table of available accessories. My primary output is PDF. The page breaks in the PDF are different when I build in V8 than they are in V7. In the V8 output, multiple pages have space for another row. On some pages, that results in half of the page empty. I've...

Re: 'Auto-end on left' not working on two files

Well, there ya go. My very own AHA moment! :-)

I did think that the system was adding a Left page type. I just went back to the files that did 'work.' Each has an empty element on the final blank page.

Thank you both for your assistance.

Thanks for the response, Lisa. One file ends with an image and the other with a para of text.

'Auto-end on left' not working on two files

My TOC has several files that output to a PDF with multiple chapters and appendices. Two of the files do not seem to be honoring the 'Auto-end on Left' options. Actually, that's not right. The left page is there but it is totally blank; not using the Left page layout. Several other files perform cor...

two graphic files in output?

My Resources/Images directory includes a subdirectory that is imported from another project. I noticed this morning that my WebHelp output of this subdirectory includes two of every file. I don't know when this started. I've been building this project off and on for over a year but haven't crawled t...

No properties in Skin Editor?

I set up the skin for my mobile output several months ago. Today I went in to make a minor change. When I select any object under Styles, no properties are listed. It says (no selection). I have styles defined. I have colors in the header and Home button. Any idea why I can't see them? NoProperties....

Re: Auto number series

Not a dumb question, Nita. A dumb post for not including that info. I'm referring to the output. The fig caps in the PDF restart at 1 in each chapter.

Auto number series

I'm missing a step somewhere. The numbering of my figure captions is starting over at 1 in each chapter. My number format is F:Figure {n+}:. I don't see anything in the Auto-numbers tab of the TOC file properties to tell it to continue from previous. Is there another setting somewhere to make this w...

Re: In the style sheet but not the style lists?

Sorry, Lisa. The dl (definition list) tag and its children dt (term) and dd (definition) all appear in the Stylesheet file and in the Stylesheet editor. They (and others in the stylesheet) do not show up in the Styles pane or any place that I can select a tag. I was just curious if there was a way t...

In the style sheet but not the style lists?

My style sheet, which I "borrowed" from MC and customized for my use, contains several styles that do not show up in any of the style lists. I believe they are basic html tags, including abbr, cite, code, dl, dt, and dd. I have a topic that is reused in print, web, and mobile. The 2- and 3...
