Re: Searching through reltables

I am hoping to find some help with this also Bazil. I have inherited a large project with a huge reltable. Manually digging through it is a major PIA.

I have found that opening the RelTable_xxx.flrtb in Textpad (or other text editor) at least gives me some ability to search through it.

Chrome displaying empty frames in WebHelp output

I have published WebHelp output using Flare 9.1.1. ** I have enabled the Mark of the Web feature.**

When I try to view the output locally using Chrome (Version 32.0.1700.19 beta-m Aura), I get empty frames. I press Ctrl + Shift + J and see the below JavaScript error:

WebHelp hyperlink to external file - relative path

Hi all,

I've found a few similar issues in the forum, but none that led to concrete solutions.

How can I create a hyperlink to an external file on a MasterPage so that the target link remains intact and distinct from the source project?

Using Flare v9, I have 2 Flare projects (A and B: both ...

Contents appearing in Contents

For PDF output using Flare 8.1.1.

I've created TOC Proxy in a topic and inserted it into my outline TOC. The problem is that, in the generated PDF, the contents itself is listed among the contents of the document.

The document has a title page, then the contents topic (where the TOC proxy is). The ...

Image running through footer of PDF

I am building to a PDF target and there are several images that end up at the bottom of a page. I'd expect the image to force a page break and appear at the top of the next page, but what I get is the image on the bottom of the page and running through the footer and, oftentimes, off of the page. I ...

TOC objects visible/invisible based on user

I have 2 separate Flare projects: A and B. All users will have access to A. Inside of A, I have reference link to B - when they click the link, the B webhelp opens up in a new window.

It would be really good if, instead of having 2 separate Flare projects, I could combine them. The issue here is ...

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience or seen Flare WebHelp Mobile output used as an app for the iPad/iPhone. In other words, instead of a user viewing the content over the web via browser, they install the content as an app and can view it anytime (with no Internet connection).

Re: Best way to style XML content

I actually had some success. Here's what I've done - for the benefit of others down the road perhaps. First off, I use Textpad as a text editor - very powerful text editor tool. I have about 20 individual XML files that I'm dealing with and Textpad lets me change them all at the same time .

Anyway ...

Re: Best way to style XML content

Thanks - that helps. I think what's causing problems is that the content I want to display is XML code. So, if I paste this into my source HTM file (that Flare creates), Flare tries to render my code and it can't. I tried using the <code> tag but this doesn't seem to work. Flare wants to see a ...

Re: Best way to style XML content

Thanks RamonS,

Using the <pre> tag, I still don't get the desired result. When I press <enter> on a row of text, then type some more, the styles I associated with <pre> are stopped and then re-started. For example, if I want all of my text to have a single gray background, pressing <enter> to ...

Best way to style XML content

I have a project where I need to be able to show XML as part of my content.

There are 2 main challenges I have with this:
- indenting : to represent XML cleanly, lines are indented as they are subordinate to parent tags. So you could have several parents within parents and multiple levels of ...

Page numbers for Odd/Even Pages (Word output)

I'm trying to configure my Word output so that the page numbers are on the left side of the Even pages and the right side of the Odd pages.

I found some Help content about this but it involves inserting a Footer Proxy which is not possible on a Master Page Layout.

What are my other options for ...

Background image in Word Output

Hi all - I have a CSS class called P.WhatNext with a background-image defined. Publishing to WebHelp, the background-image appears as expected. Publishing to Word and the background image does not. (see attached images of both outputs)

Any ideas on where I should look to troubleshoot?

TIA
