Thank you for your help. It worked.
MadCap Support suggested to save the file as workbook in Excel and then import it. It worked too.

Lingo does not recognise German characters such as ü ö ä
I imported a CSV file containing German translation into Lingo Termbase that I created on the local drive. I noticed that characters such as ü ö ä were not recognised in Lingo Termbase. Theses were replaced with the question mark symbols. Has anyone seen this behaviour and know how to fix this? T...

Re: Creating TM from existing translations
Please give me a bit more info about creating and merging bundles for creating TM. I think I missed some important point about the process that you used. I tried creating translation bundle from the German Flare project. First I created a new Lingo project by adding files from the Flare project. It ...

Re: Creating TM from existing translations
Thanks for your reply. I never thought of creating bundles in Lingo and then merging them. I will definitely try this. I have tried Lingo Align, it is very time consuming and requires a lot tidying up because it ended up many segments going out of alignment. Without the knowledge of the language you...

Creating TM from existing translations
We have used MadCap Lingo to translate help into 5 languages. As we upgraded from one version of Lingo to the next there have been lots of issues with segments going out of alignment and multiple translation entries for many segments. We don't want to use our existing Lingo master projects for futur...

Re: Managing translated images
We have used the process that you described i.e., replace the English screenshots with the translated ones in each Flare project. The issue arises when you do next round of translations. When you update Lingo Project for each language using the Master Flare English project to pick up new changes, al...

Project update in Lingo 5
I want to include selected files in the Lingo project for sending out for translation. I noticed that Project Update command in Lingo 5 includes all the changed and new files for creating a translation bundle. Does any one know how to create a Lingo translation bundle of selected files from the Flar...

Going back to your original drop-down text
I have created What's new help topic using Drop-down text for each item in the topic. In each item I have put some cross references to other topics in the help project. In the compiled Online help, after visiting a cross reference when click back arrow it takes you back not to the location where you...

Customizing Search Results table
In my help system with Dot net help vierwer, the search results table shows three columns, Title, Rank and File. I want to hide the File column. It looks awful on a foreign language help because File name is displayed in English and the Title and Rank are in the language of the Help Project. I looke...

Re: Happy or unhappy with Lingo?
We thought Lingo was a sensible option because we are very happy with Flare. Now after getting our first Help Project translated into French, German, Japanese, Russian and Simplified Chinese, we think it was not a right decision. We should have chosen a well established localization tool. Lingo do h...

Re: why are a mixture of characters in the PDF out in Japanese?
We are using Segoe UI font for our English online help and PDF. After translation of Flare Project into Japanese we have not changed the font. It is the same as English. This could be the possible cause of the problem. I will try the Japanese font and see if the the problem gets resolved. Thanks for...

Sorry for a very delayed reply.
We are using Lingo 4. I reported this issue to MadCap Support. I have been informed that it is a bug and it will be fixed in the next release of Lingo. The bug reference is #34732.

I checked and found that TOC autosynch is already checked in the skin. I will try using snippet. We are using Dot net help. I assume snippet should work in the Dot Net help.
Thanks

Why does CSH displays correct topic but wrong TOC entry?
I have problem with context sensitive help. Same control is used in two different places (navigators) in our software. It means there are two different topic IDs for each control. I have assigned the correct identifier to the topic in Alias file. Pressing F1 displays the correct topic (as there is o...

Why have the translated and source segments gone out of syc?
We are using Lingo 4.0 for localising the help. We sent out the Lingo Project to an external company for translation into Simplified Chinese. why are a mixture of characters in the PDF out in Japanese?
We have to supply online help and PDF in Japanese. The characters in the Online help are fine. The PDF created from the Japanese help has a mixture of bold and normal characters. We are using Segoe UI font. Does any one know what is causing this behaviour?

Problem with Cross references in online and Printed output
I have cross references in most of my help topics for online help and for the PDF output. They work fine in both outputs except one cross reference. In the online output, this cross reference displays as the whole topic underlined instead of the heading. In the PDF output it shows that it should lin...

Why are there two versions of TOCs in Lingo Project?
In my Flare English Project I have four targets, two for printed outputs and two for Online help. So there are four TOCs. I created a Lingo Project for each language (Simplified Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Russian). I created a translation bundle for each language and sent it for translati...
